The trimming head on our Black and Decker battery powered line trimmer failed.

So I am left with an 18V motor on a stick

Trying to think what I could adapt it for

Any (polite) suggestions?

Mike

- Gear it down (to add torque) and make a spitroast motor?
- Pop it into a kids ride on/in car? (might need to add a brake...)

- connect it to a pump and make a water feature

- automate your curtains

- rotate your bed

- build a launcher for your kids (to play with, not to launch them)

Attach knives and machetes to it somehow, making the ultimate weapon for when the zombie apocalypse hits.

Speaking of weapons, the Mythbusters made a pretty convincing spear thrower from a spinning tyre on an episode devoted to the A Team. It would certainly work for that.

Add a buffing pad and make a mini floor polisher.

Probably the most useful part is the battery connector.

Mentioning Mythbusters - the B team of Mythbusters - the 3 younger people are in a Netflix series called "White Rabbit Project".

Battery power does limit it but:

Like the old mopeds - put a rubber wheel on it, mount it on your bicycle nad push the rubber wheel down onto the bike wheel - powered bike

I'm maing a hovercraft at present. - a vacuum cleaner or leaf blower is big enough to lift 120kg easily - so a weed trimmer motor - hmmm

Outboard motor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgzl5RiUPuM

Paint mixer.

Lathe or saw motor - mount it on table and attach stepped pullys to make fan belt driven gadgets.  Power it via convertor.

Water aerator.

I have working bread maker motor with control board and vacuum cleaner motor with control board if anyone interested .. Those work from mains. Dumped all other motors I had (12V DC) recently

For motor controllers have a lot of high voltage high power IGBT
