Whirlpool.  Its not working well, the powder stuff isn't emptying into it properly. Stopped using tablets for that reason, but I've found the issue is that the top and bottom spinning arms aren't spinning. It starts, adds water, the pump is making the usual sounds. The other night I could hear a water to plastic noise, normal as there were a couple of plastic containers in the top shelf. Wife has mentioned that tablet issue, and hasn't complained about its washing ability.

The top arm is non piped, it gets water when it is pushed in to the water feed, but the bottom arm also isn't spinning so the water cant be getting to that feed. Water is in the machine, heats up, etc.

Any ideas? I thought the top arm might be blocked but as the bottom arm isn't spinning and thats hard piped, I'm stumped.

Before I call, hoping to get feedback, as in "its just this, do that" or "its terminal"

Have you run a dish washer cleaner through the machine? We do this every three months to prevent clogging of the small jets etc and general cleaning of the unit.

Ill try that, thanks

Doing a wash now, I see the bottom one has moved. I'll check shortly what its doing on the rinse. When its done Ill do a pre rinse, and see if the spinning things can be removed so I can check for blockages.

My spinny arms have had crap get thru the pump and block the end holes, which are the ones that are angled to give it the spin. Check the arms are free of crap inside them.

I make sure the arm is dry and then suck it clean with the vacuum cleaner through the centre hole.

What threw me off was that they didnt move at all, as if the angled jet as each end was blocked to the same level, but I'll remove them tonight

Usual thing I had get in them was little bits of the plastic that holds the straw onto the side of an up and go/anchor fast start box, Gets stuck on a plate so easily and gets past the filter somehow.

What I've noticed is dishwasher should be renamed dish glazer. Dishes have to be pretty well rinsed and free of stuff before loading. Otherwise the dishwasher stops working properly!

I hate loading and unloading. We have sent spacecraft to land on comets yet there is still no auto load and auto unload feature. I'd even accept having to press the two buttons to do that

We have that feature in our one, implemented by the Teentek chip. Unfortunately it needs a 'mute' function, so we can disable the audio from the Whinge processor. The auto-load is far from ideal at times though, but one again the Whinge processor makes an awful noise if you attempt to address this issue.

Do you mean that the top arm is attached to the basket and mates up to a water outlet on the back wall? I remember some that fed the top arm with water from the top into a funnel. It was easy to cover the funnel.

If either arm in our DW stops it's usually something hanging down jamming the arm. Ours has a valve that spins one arm at a time rather than splitting the water between both. There is a quick cycle that only does top basket.

Top arms mates, yes. Ive checked if anything is hanging down. It will hopefully be a blockage in the arms, I will check tonight

In regards to the sticking tablet, we just throw ours in the bottom of the dishwasher at the start. Even says this as an alternative in the manual i think

Hopefully fixed

There was one blocked hole in the upper arm, the angles hole that propells is. Sorted hopefully

The bottom arm is fine, but underneath that is a plastic plates for the double water feed into the bottom or from the bottom, that had popped out, and was rubbing. Thats also the feed to the top intake I think.

Its on now, and all systems go

Re the tablet, I think that will now be solved as there will be a water spray to help release it
