Hi.

What is the best stuff to promptly remove moss from concrete, other than waterblasting?

I see a number of highly advertised products, and I think I've used one of them previously but wasn't that impressed as it seemed to take 'months' to work.

Cheers

The cheaper 30 seconds blue container is bleach with surfactants, spray that on give it a really good brushing and then hose it off. It works even better if you water blast it off. If you want an easy option you can use the spray and walk away version that costs about twice as much and takes about 3 months to work.

Have a look at my thread about house washing from a few months ago, very similar answers.

Unfortunately mechanical removal may be the best option.

I have just come in from spraying 30 seconds spray and walk away.

If it is heavy with mould it seems to work quite quickly, of you have green spots it works quite quickly, however for best results it does take months.

The 30 seconds blue bottle has bleach so only wear old clothing otherwise you might look like a hippy at the end as you will spill some :-)

The other idea that should work quickly is boiling water, I have a wallpaper steamer from when we first bought our house, says it can do this sort of thing but you have to keep the steamer still for 30 seconds then move it, will only work for flat surfaces.

I am not in favour of waterblasting as it removes the fines from the concrete surface leaving stony lumps and uneven surface but it do it periodically down the back of our house where it doesnt matter

I understand 30 seconds is good stuff from my mate.
