@p_l_pass: @shanelust in both the main page scoreboard & schedule there is a button saying "hide scores" click that & site will remember your selection

That's ridiculous. The email you got in response from them is word for word the response I got when asking what bit rate the apps would be capable of streaming at. Pretty poor support I must say!
I guess the only other option would be to try their 0800 number. That's operated from Petone, not New York, so might be more helpful!

Can anyone confirm if or where the boldend winner is when scores are hidden. I'm still in London so haven't seem PLP yet.

I guess PLP must be jet star then. Last night I was testing out my galaxy streaming to the tv and comparing it to my laptop. All of a sudden, the laptop wouldn't connect. After 30 mins of trouble shooting via the faq, it still wouldn't. Ridiculous

If these were both running concurrently perhaps there is some lock out that has sensed more than one stream per login (in this case two streams to one IP)?.

Any initial thoughts on the comparable quality between the two?

I thought the same thing but I made sure that I was logged out of the Galaxy app several times! I removed and re-installed flash on the laptop too, but no dice. In the end I gave up and went and watched something else.

I can't compare the two options because the laptop would only achieve 400 mbps before it kicked me out. I did think that the Galaxy stream was better than Sommet's coverage of the Charity shield though. I could easily make out the numbers on the shirts.

Managed to get through the whole day yesterday without finding out the result of the Chlesea versus A. Villa game. Home at 5:00 the littlun was watching Disney channel so for the first time ever I was able to watch the game on my gaming PC - well the first half hour anyway. It played flawlessly at at a constant 3Kbps, no judder or artifacts - a very pleasant viewing experience with good sound quality.

Then I had to take my boy to football training and had a thought. So I whipped out the LTE Vodafone sim from my iPhone and inserted it into the kids Samsung 10:1 and borrowed that. The lad starting training and after a bit of tinkering I was able to watch the remainder of the game in the car on the Samsung tablet. It would only play at 1,600 for some reason - there was no option to select 3k, but given the smaller real estate this was not a problem. Again it played flawlessy.

In the old Sky days I would have to have waited until the family had all gone to bed and start watching around 10:00+.

Are you saying a small minority could afford SKY?

I couldn't recall the figure but found a report online from SKY dated 2010 saying that SKY is now in 48% of all NZ households...I would imagine it's similar now...if not a touch higher.

@Dororke,

It's a bit unfair to compare sky recorded to on demand as you where fully capable of watching the recording anytime, you just chose to allow your family to watch something instead.

How much data did you use on the tablet? Would have been a fairly large amount!

What do you consider to be amazing quality then? Sky WAS Live with 1080i resolution, 9mbps bitrate with 5.1 audio... That is the current distribution method for HD TV as 1080p which would be better is ALOT higer in terms of bitrate.
