Benoire: Unless you either have very deep pockets, or a very generous company (very generous star blazer!) I'd rule out trying to watch a stream on a mobile device not connected to an 'unlimited' wi-fi; Even the Uk with its 'unlimited' this and that doesn't allow you to watch on demand tv on 3G/4G as they break fair use policies.

Sorry to be pedantic, but I just arrived from UK (two months) and had unlimited data contact with the 3 network. Watching TV, streaming etc does not break fair usage policies at all - and they actually use this as a selling feature. Sky go, bbc iplayer, itv player etc are all set up for use on the go, and this is a fairly standard and accepted feature on a mobile contract over there. 3 actually also allowed you to use iPhone as a personal hot spot and again there was no restriction in the amount of usage for this.

I used to use iphone to create a wireless network and connect work lap top and use it all day. Worked fantastically well.

NZ is obviously different but as peoples consumption of "TV and video" and data in general changes it will get to stage where most people need at least 150gb per month to function normally.

Having said that I think $99 for 150gb with telecom with a land line thrown in is pretty good value.

Ok I emigrated from the UK just over 3 years ago and my 02 contract was very prescriptive on fair use, same as my ISP. 3 was set up differrently though, I recall their initial offerings aiming at streaming. I guess things have moved on since I left, I stand corrected!

Nice one - finally cleared up what is on-demand and what is not.
So, all games available for 24 hours, the 250 "on-demand" ones, until the next round of games.
So, I won't have to get up in the wee hours to watch any games live :)

Interesting how they've grouped the matches around Christmas/new year into one "week" from the 26/12 - 11/1 every team has 3 games in that time. So you'll be able to watch on demand matches from Boxing Day until the 11th of January.

Yeah cause usually there's only like 2 days between each teams games and then I don't see any point in putting any of the games on-demand just for ~48 hours, when you can have it for 24 hours and save that on demand for a different fixture for a whole week.

Lust: Has anyone figured out how much data the iPhone app uses?

I watched about 10 min on my iPhone yesterday and used up around 300MB.

There seem to be separate files held for the iPhone and iPad at the base URL and the iPhone version tops out at 1600 with iPad adding 3000. If this was 10 minutes, it might be there are some re-transmissions as 10 minutes should only be 1600/8*10*60 = 120 MB. I noticed on my ADSL connection that whenever it tried the offshore it often decided to give up when the file was partly loaded and reverted back to the local server - this was with 2 second chunks and with these larger 10 second chunks that retry effect might get worse - it is expecting a 2 MB file within 10 seconds. I doubt the iPhone is managing to get a 3000 stream although the usage looks more like it.

they have updated the android app.
it no longer shows the winners in bold (yay)
its still maxed out at 1200 for my s3 (boo)

I subscribed on the basis of being told quite clearly that they would have the ipad app ready by the start of the season. Itnwas on the webpage and i phoned up twice to double check. The reason is that I can watch on my PC from loads of other sources but the ipad anda Apple TV combo was the deal breaker.

As they still do not have the ipad app would i be entitled to a refund for these four weeks or so?

My EPL football websites: Get the results but hide the score of your team at HidetheScore.net. Compare league positions with wage bills at RealPremierLeague.net.

Cheers mate! I forgot I am logged into the UK Apple Store, so no wonder I couldn't see it!

I've just about had enough of these clowns. Before I signed up I specifically asked about how long games would be up for and was told all games would be up for at least a week after they had finished. Then I got an email telling me about this 24 hour limit on some games. Wouldn't have signed up in the first place if I knew this. I questioned it and got an email back that answered nothing.

Here's their email:

Hi,

I'm a little confused and hope you can clear this up for me. In your email at the bottom, you have stated that the majority of games will only be available for 24 hours after they have taken place. Before I signed up and paid $150 upfront, I wanted to check that this was not the case as it is not possible for me to watch the majority of games at the weekend. You sent me the following assurance:
