trig42: Are you talking about on the Fire, or on a TV?

Not sure about the Fire - hopefully the few people on here that are receiving them can test them out - but Plex Client on a Samsung TV is pretty snappy.

Plex client on the Fire TV.

Kind of on topic. Got one of those Roku sticks arrive yesterday and fired it up. Very impressed and found it quite responsive. Best feature and reason for purchase was the ability to
load Aereo as a private channel. The outcome; live US TV via Aereo without streaming from ipad to apple TV.

That looks pretty cool, but i hope you did your research on it as it maybe short lived.. They are heading to the supreme court in 7 days as the MPAA want it shut down

Argh. And I am flying to AKL today so won't be able to play with mine. At least got Windows Phone 8.1 installed before going to the airport.

So has anyone managed to set DNS on the box? No luck here so far...

Yes i got it working last night. Watched a couple of things off prime and netflix. Im using unblock.us. It wasn't immediately obvious how to input the dns settings for wireless, you have to do it when your joining the network, the configure button is only for ethernet.

Amazon prime's selection is pretty crap, i wont be going further than the free trial, all the good stuff is behind a paywall.

I have xbmc up and running and it played everything i threw at it, including a couple ~20mbps bluray mp4's. DTS and DD are working as expected. No DTS-MA yet, im hoping this happens but maybe a hardware restriction.

So do you do it in Advanced when joining the network? Did not seem to have a DNS setting there either from what I have seen.

I ordered mine because a friend was over in the US and will bring it back for me saving me shipping. Having said that despite showing as in stock, they had run out and it wasn't coming in until 2 days after my friend left. The CSR in Chat suggested I wait it out, and low and behold they have shipped my unit out about 2 hours later which will arrive in plenty of time.

Again Amazon Customer service for the WIN!

Yes, its all in advanced. Should be fairly straight foward.

Also not a fan of the netflix interface, i was hoping for more but just got the default android basic interface. As well as youtube, you just get the glorified tv interface.
Possibly expecting a little too much i guess ;)

A video review I saw mentioned the Netflix interface was pretty basic (but perfectly functional). Hopefully Netflix release a FireTV client (so that voice search works too).

How hard is it to install XBMC on it?

Ah, so this is the way:

Join, click advanced and enter IP, gateway, network prefix (which threw me for a loop, used to netmask). The default network prefix they show is 24 which corresponds to netmask 255.255.255.0, and THEN you get to enter DNS :)
