kiwifidget:
As an aside, the upcoming tests will be on SparkSport only?
If that was a question then yes. All NZ Cricket within NZ is on Spark
Panasonic 65GZ1000, Onkyo RZ730, Atmos 5.1.2, AppleTV 4K, Nest Mini's, PS5, PS3, MacbookPro, iPad Pro, Apple watch SE2, iPhone 15+

My folks are on a rural wireless connection and watched most of the game.
They switched off when WI was 8 wickets down.
Thanks to the magic of michaelmurfys unifi site I can say that the SmartVu unit went through about 4-5GB of data.
I did have to restart the app several times but that gives an indication of how much data a T20 game needs.
Hmmm. I signed up to SS 7 day free trial, and ran the second T20 for 3 hours yesterday morning (using our under-utilised AM data allowance). Data was a fairly constant 3.4GB per hour, pointing towards 15GB for the full match, correspondingly more for an ODI and way over the top for a 5 day test. We could manage the occasional T20 or ODI with capped data, but watching the whole series would be impossible.
Have been watching the BC's on spark sport via
Kodi (vero 4k)
Panasonic tv app
Both work great, excellent picture quality.
noticeably better than sky sport now and GO. (possibly because spark isnt as stingy with the video bitrate? )

Possibly, but seeing as Spark is streaming only and SKY is more towards the statellite/box customers you would want Spark to be better.

mentalinc: Does anyone have an magic talk m3u8 link or similar?
I set my folks up with a SmartVu last year for the RWC.
It worked quite well.
But it's not coping with the cricket.
It does one session ok, but when you get into a 2nd one its overheating so bad the app wont even launch.
Delete cookies?! Are you insane?!

Easy tell them you are canceling and watch it on youtube.
the one i was watching was through Supersport , which i think is South African and broadcast throughout Africa. It was ok.
Common sense is not as common as you think.

Thats sounds like a dodgy link!
Best you move to JAPAN or another location and watch it on NZC official youtube channel, you wouldn't want to be supporting piracy!

sorry how different is watching Supersports, who have the rights to broadcast in South Africa, than watching sport on Kano or even watching from Japan on You Tube .
Common sense is not as common as you think.
Dochart: I really hate how the cricket been shown on Spark Sport. Everytime they go to next session for Test Cricket you have to back out of the first session then click on the next session and watch live. Why can’t they just have one event for the whole day.
Anyway to let the Spark Sport team know about this inconvenience?
I was watching ondemand and got a little confused on this! Watched the afternoon session and then switched to the evening session thinking the timeline would be where the last session ended! But no, I had to fast forward over stuff that I had already watched... With the English cricket, pretty sure that was how it was, one session to the next.

SS don't seem very concerned about increasing their viewer base. On Sunday I cancelled the free trial, giving my reasons for doing so. I kind of expected to receive an email saying 'sorry to see you go, is there something we can do to help change your mind' or some such. But, so far, nothing at all.
