There are a number of things SS need to sort out and least aim for. In my opinion Kayo is the benchmark, one of the great features they have is 'Key Moments', you click this and a timeline comes up along the bottom, dotted with W's (wicket) and 4's and 6's. You can click any of them and watch that ball being bowled.

You can swipe from the right (I'm using an Apple TV) and the full scoreboard takes up the side of the screen, other sports utilise this feature too, for instance when watching Rugby League, swiping from the right brings up all the stats, tackle counts, line breaks etc etc.

One frustration with SS, is when you want to watch an EPL game that has finished or has started, that you need to 'fast forward' through a large part of the previous game. The last Spurs game i watched, i needed to 'fast-forward' through the last 35mins of the previous game, before the pre-game stuff even started. I asked them about this and they said 'It's a known issue and something we're trying to resolve' .

Obviously harder than you might have thought it should be 😠

If youre after a laugh read some of the comments when they post on FB, someone said the other day 'You won't believe it, but i called them and you need the internet to get Spark Sport' πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

I’ve notice with test match cricket on Spark Sport today for NZ vs Pakistan game is that they listen to my advice about having a full day event for Test cricket instead of having 3 different events for Day, Afternoon and evening session. It was so annoying having to back out each time after each session finishes.

I wonder who else complain to them other than me.

Thanks for complaining or we would have been stuck with having to back out of each session for Test Cricket for Spark Sport.

Is your Copper internet going slow? The following items may help you to get the best results from the internet connection

These websites that can show what is available at your property  http://broadbandmap.nz and https://www.chorus.co.nz/.
1) Are you on the best available plan for your location, consider upgrading to vdsl or fibre
2) How old is your modem/does it need upgrading?
3) Do you have a bridge tap situation (see below)?
4) Do you need a master filter?
5) Can you use ethernet wiring instead of wifi?
6) Is the modem connection the only equipment that's connected to the service lead?
7) Are all of your jack points and connection wiring up to spec?

8) How far are you from the exchange or roadside cabinet?

9) The location of your wifi/ modem

10) Is your phone's internal wiring connected to the outside world? If your phone is still over copper then you may need a master filter to remove the line noise and any dodgy wiring or jack point noise.

Some charges may apply to some of the above services.

A bridge tap is where your service lead comes in the wiring splits off in two directions, the signal bounces around and confuses the modem. As a result, the connection speed drops

until it finds a stable connection.  thus lowering the connection speed of the modem and the transfer speed of any files. There are only TWO items allowed to be connected to the service lead,

a master filter and the jack point for the modem jack point. You may not need a master filter if the internet is wired up in the bottom picture.

Also with phone lines being provisioned via the internet, they need to be kept inside the home and NOT go outside the home (disconnected from the service lead)

I hope this helps fix or reduce your issues

@dochart thank you, it occurred to me after I asked that the info would be at the very start of this thread, and it was. πŸ˜‚

Just keep in mind Spark only has NZ Cricket games IN New Zealand, so when the blackcaps tour overseas those games will be on Sky. Including ICC events T20 & ODI world cup's etc

It is a bit of a minefield for hardcore cricket fans really

Yeah that is a shame, I'm grateful I only enjoy watching the home games. As much I love cricket I'm not super interested in watching ODI's and Test matches through the night (with the exception of the world cup).

Fans still grumble but New Zealand Cricket 'delighted' with Spark Sport numbers | Stuff.co.nz

NZC may be "delighted" to be growing new audience segments, but was it really necessary to sacrifice their rural audience to achieve this? SS didn't respond to my feedback (sent after doing the 7 day free trial), and neither did NZC respond to my email outlining my concerns. It seems we are just to be thrown on the scrap heap after decades of our support (via the Sky sub).

Or, Sky is a monopoly, they are sacrificing the audience that cannot afford Sky. Funny how things have switched 180 degrees.

Everyone wanted horrible Sky gone. The many anti Sky threads here. Cricket is off Sky. Still whining.

I think this is off topic for this thread.

The fact is that for a lot of rural people, their ability to enjoy cricket on TV has been taken away. It is either non-existent or non-affordable. This is the issue that I want NZC and SS to address.
