Well that's an ALMIGHTY rip off then.

I'd only watch the premier league produced stuff if it was on and I was just channel surfing. So I'll probably just go for the normal package. I'd usually go on the skysport website and watch the highlights which were produced by the premier league (I think) so that might be a bit of a loss.

Time to take your internet connection a little more seriously, real time traffic (i.e. streaming sports) is more sensitive to impulse noise and line variance. Get your internal wiring sorted, have an installer run a Cat6 cable from point of entry to your broadband router and have a splitter installed - this not only guarantees best speed but ensures local noise sources won't disturb the live stream and cause stuttering just when you are glued to an action moment!

Stuff doesn't have peterreader, it has shaneponting.

that's is ok for you but do you think those that watch maybe 1 game a week are wiling to pay that.

And they are not likely to watch the game TVNZ gets.

its not going to be a issue for me in terms of broadband ufb and have a decent data cap

You're right its not if your simply after football, but for those that like watching the other sports it all starts to add up badly.

I really do wonder about their market though... Without a dedicated box, or over the air ability I can't imagine they'll catch the numbers they need to make it viable?

Posted this, then starting reading the "watching paint dry" thread where the op was surprised that a phone extension cable could be a problem when connected to the modem. Freitasm and JohnR were politely trying to help and as I started to laugh got an email ping to note your response...

yeh it would be interesting to see how the like of other sports go ahead. but i can see it becoming more flexible (picking a particular team) that would be good

but i guess its only been just announced and we just gotta see what else is going to be done in the next month and a half

If you're just viewing one game a week, you're probably not going to go for the platinum package for $240. but for 38 games @ $150 = ~$4/game. which is quite reasonable imo. So I think they'd go for that. plus then you also get to watch some other games if you want, which brings the price per game down for any extra games you watch.

But its not on the telly, as the winning bidder mentioned on TV tonight. You can watch on a PC. Mac, iPad, Android Tablet.

They MAY look not bad, but blow it to a 50" TV, that's the issue. For me anyway

they did mention somewhere that they will be looking at getting apps for smart tv's. apple tv wouldnt be a bad investment if they are planning to introduce other sports in future

NZ now is going to be one of the few countries without terrestrial rights. And to think Richard Scudamore said he thought that selling to a Singapore based TV rights company would have no affect on NZ viewers.

but il'l only watch games that Liverpool are playing,i dont care about any other team so that is only 1 game a week, so its not worth it for me. i will be happy with the hour highlights each week on TVNZ
