Interesting; I was watching SOU v AVL and the same thing happened after 39:00 - the feed quickly paused then caught up with stuttering for the rest of the game.  Looks like something went wrong at PLP's end, not that they'd ever admit it.

martyyn: Oh FFS.

Against my better judgement I decided to sign up with PLP for the rest of the season thinking last weeks stuttering was surely a one-off, but no, 38:57 into the Arsenal - Sunderland game it does it again.

On the HTPC in both Chrome and IE, on the app on my N5 and my Chromebook.

Utter shambles.

You could have just watched it live on TV one.

Looks like Sky have ramped up their bid for the EPL rights judging by the recent herald article... I do wonder though if BEin will try to win it, they appear to be getting a near global presence in the sports market.

According to mediabusinessasia BeIn already have the rights.  It'd be a question of whether they onsell them as a wholesaler or set up direct in this market.

The Herald dont note that you cant watch Top14 rugby this season - try finding it from Coliseum.  Its coming in 2015, although the competition started months ago.

I mused on it a few weeks ago.....  http://www.throng.co.nz/2015/11/english-premier-league-rights-change-is-this-the-demise-of-lightbox-sports/

Yeah its all a bit murky in terms of knowing when the rights will be decided, so it may have already happened... Although I don't know why the herald would have an article written that way now if they had been decided...

If BEin do win the rights, I hope they bring the Aus TV system to NZ on Sky so we have access to the game via the red button and also an online system...

Despite the mediabusinessasia article about NZ and Thailand there is nothing published on the premier leagues website.  So it may still be in negotiation and the media article in early November could be wrong.

I cant wait for PLP to lose these rights. The Arsenal v Southampton game this morning is completely unwatchable. I get about a second of action and then 5-10 seconds of buffering. The picture freezes regularly and although the game kicked off 25 minutes ago the game clock is only at 20 minutes on my screen.

I'm off to find a stream.

Likewise - West Ham vs Villa unwatchable.  Buffering even when down to 400Kbps, even though I'm running 50Mbps (local) and 20Mbps (New York).

No support - contact centre didn't open till 9:00am, 15 minutes after the game started and I've been waiting for another 15 minutes with no one answering (guessing no one working there anymore).

My PLP stream on WBA v Swans is crap – running between 400kbps and 1200kbp, despite being on Fibre which is running at a good speed. Started watching Norwich v Spurs before this game started, and that was the same.

Yep, and I like the way they've removed live chat support; email support suggests a response in 24-48 hours and I'm still on hold 40 minutes after I called them at 9:00am, as soon as their phone line opened (so I must have been one of the first to get through).

I'm watching a free live stream now - no buffering and it's running a good 30s - 1 minute ahead of PLP.

I'm also having quality issues - picture keeps freezing. Can't be bothered trying to contact PLP, they are hopeless.

If SKY do have the broadcast rights this year, I'd hate to imagine the complaints from SKY GO users...

I heard through the grapevine that SKY TV was the third highest bidder...

I didn't get to watch this game until late last night due to work and then something else after work. Had no problems with the picture or buffering but the sound was ridiculously out of sync. Commentary was a full 5 seconds ahead of the play so I knew the outcome of every chance before seeing it.
