Just received a news email from Quickflix. The email seems to reference the Australian site quickflix.com.au. When clicking on the links in the email etc, they all directed to Aussie site where the NZ logins dont work.

Right so thought I would come on here with my tail between my legs and let you know that I have given quickflix a go. To be honest despite the limited content I am really impressed with the quality and speed of streaming. I have watched one film on a computer and two on the ps3. Its pretty convenient to be able to browse through on the playstation although its a bit annoying having to input my username and password every time.

Here's hoping the content improves!

I can watch on my PS3 and I do not have to put my name in every time? I usaully use the Bravia to watch but did try the PS3 and it just works

hmm that's strange. If I turn off the ps3 I have to re-enter my details.

There must be an option there to remember your credentials. I am not able to check mine just now but I can assure you it does not ask for login

yeah same.

pretty gutted to as the banner in the email talked about how HBO was coming very soon.

If it isn't, then there may well be a lot of annoyed customers who don't realise it is an ozzie email

trig42: All rental car companies do it too, but with a much bigger amount.

Rental Car Companies as far as I know "Authorise" $$ but don't complete the transaction so you don't see it on your account at all but the money is not available and won't actually see it on account statement.

They PUT money into your account with a code as far as I know. I can't see how they can know the CC is mine if all they do is take 1c out of it. I could have given anyone's CC Details which they would have used.

You are right you could put anyone's credit card details in there as when you sign up and give the card details it's not asking if the card is yours just that the name you put on there matches how it is written on the card and obviously you wouldn't necessarily know anyones expiry dates and 3 or 4 digit code off their card. So generally most companies are happy that the card you input is going to be authourised by the person submitting the app for whatever service / purchase.

Then of course theirs the who really cares all this over someone who complained because they did not read the T's and C's before accepting membership. I will admit I don't read all the fine print but a quick skim through where numbers are mentioned is at least a good effort lol.

Finally got round to watching a movie on my Bravia last night. Picked an old classic - The Jerk - from the HD selection. Quite impressed with the quality and there wasn't any stutter or pause at any stage. Yet to try streaming something to a computer.
