Ruphus: I fixed this at my inlaws house by having them open the Netfix app on their phone while connected to wireless network.

https://help.netflix.com/en/node/24853

Edit: fixed link

You have to do this regularly.  We were ensuring we opened the phone app and the TV app each week at both residences. Then we went away for two weeks and that was all she wrote.

Based on our experience once you get the dreaded message, opening the phone app doesn't help.  There is no going back.

Heya, just trying to add/invite someone as an additional user, and it’s saying that their email address is already in use (no shite). Anyway how to get around it? There’s current no active sub on their account too.

... try a different email address? It's not like additional email addresses are hard to get.

All sorted! Didn't realise Netflix had an 0800 number. The CSR was able to fully remove the email address (just odd that one can't do that themselves)

ROFL. For all the gnashing of teeth, threats of mass defections, and cancellations, Netflix added 14 *MILLION* subscribers last year.

I am thinking it will be interesting to see profits look like in this period.

It seems that very few people were incorrectly adversely impacted as well.

If you are a shareholder, you'd have to be fairly happy with the board and CEO right now I imagine.

Still a long way off from the highs of the end of 2021 though, It depends on when you invested. Many are still trying to recoup their losses from early 2022 and Netflix still has a far way to go until it breaks even. The company needs to spend lots to promote further growth as it has to expand its content. I certainly will not be throwing any money at them right now.

With an P/E of 48 I'd be pretty nervous if I was a shareholder and probably be selling. It's a massively overvalued company in a mature market.

Regardless, they are better off than they were a year ago, with 14 MILLION new subscribers. Many predicted the end of NF as a result of their decision to end account sharing, but turns out it was a pretty reasonable decision to make.

I don't disagree they are over valued, but there aren't many companies who wouldn't be overjoyed with 18M new customers.

I like how they got an extra 4 million subscribers in the space of three posts...

Are you sure? 😉

In all seriousness though, it would be interesting to know what number of people left over the same period - 14/18M new subscribers is different from the total subscribers increasing by that same amount.

Yup, they all got outraged over the sharing limitations and left at the same time ;)

Could be interesting, though IME some companies use 'new' to mean Nett additional customers.

I'd be surprised if they weren't up substantially

the 14/18 Million is NET gain, total subs rose by that amount to 260 million.

One of the reasons for the stock price jump is the growth in the ad supported subscriptions growing  by 8 million to 23 million users,  this gives netflix more leverage over price they charge for ads, thus opening up more revenue possibilities,

Not for long

It was a trial and word was the low/no advert base level was going to be scrapped so they got more cash from the secondary plans once you were hooked.

It's just been confirmed.

Looks like another price jump on the horizon.

No, its the Ad-free basic that's getting scrapped, -  The ad version  will become the cheapest option (there is only one ad version- Standard, if you want 4K you gotta pay for the full burrito )
