Vodafone VDSL. No problem streaming here but performance hasn't been as good over the last few days. Getting buffering pauses.

Which DNS service/devices are you using? Don't really understand why this would effect some people and not others..

I've noticed that if I hit refresh enough times I can finally get a show to load, but it plays about 3 seconds then tries to buffer, but never receives any more data.

Starting to sound like more testing may be needed from UnoTelly/UnblockUS to see what 'solution' Vodafone have put in place. I'm out of town at the moment so not able to advise how my Netflix streaming over VFNZ VDSL is working for me but will be able to post about it on Monday night.

Unotelly DNS and we mainly stream direct to 2 PCs and the Ipad occasionally. Hopefully the likes of Unotelly and others can help people in your position.

Hi

I have done some more testing today

Vodafone adsl is not working with unblock-us or unotelly on PC or appleTV

Vodafone 3g hotspot does work with all configurations

Is there some way to get Vodafone to disable caching on adsl connections?

is there a pool of IP addresses that are still running thru a misconfigured cache?

Can I get my unlimited adsl data assigned to mobile?

Cheers

A friend of mine has VF adsl and was using the unotelly vpn while the problems were going on.
Has tried to switch back to the unodns method and keeps getting errors from Netflix.
I did find out he has a static ip.
Suggested he try and check with VF if somehow this has caching enabled - there were posts last year about certain fixed ip ranges having caching enabled.

I am on VF adsl and it was fine Friday and Saturday night. Usually stops and buffers a few seconds after starting but then it has been fine.

Maybe there are still a few wrinkles on VF?

Robjg63 - thanks much for that. The penny dropped.

I still can't get US to work. Looks there's some success stories, but still a few like me. Cheers

Still working fine here on Vodafone ADSL. Had to switch to unotelly as I was getting buffering problems on unblock-us. On unotelly no buffering.

Just curious, what video bitrate do you view things at? I am using Unotelly and the performance isn't too flash on either their DNS service or the VPN. I used to be able to do 4300 with minimal rebufferings apart from the initial buffer but lately have had to drop things down to 3850 and there are still one or two rebuffers. It's still acceptable to me ATM (I just treat these as opportunities to break and grab a drink etc) but if things get any worse it's gonna suck.

I am on VDSL incidentally.

Now switched to Unotelly which tells me that I'm set up correctly. Still no go with Netflix US on AppleTV using VDSL.Have rebooted everything after applying new DNS from Unotelly, using the Auckland DNS from their global map.

My Netflix account is updating just fine...even when the UK content is available in the US. Still accessing and browsing and selecting content without a problem. Just in go actually playing something.

Called VF yesterday. Tech desk was clueless as their is a 'skeleton staff' on the weekend. Suggested I call back Tuesday and talk to one of their techies who she knows has Netflix!!!

I can confirm we still have a handful of customers on VF who still have the issue. We're in the process of collating details about connection type, plan, dynamic/static IP, etc.

If it helps I use your service and have a fibre connection with Vodafone. I have no issues at all.

Do you have a static IP address by any chance?
