Slingshot vdsl, global mode - just tied netflix from win 7 PC for first time for a few days. Works intermittently , 2 out of 7 attempts  played a show. I think the ping comment may be valid in some way.

thewanderingv: Afe,

I think it works fine for anyone using a VPN. It's only DNS services that people are struggling with.

I thought so but I thought I'd make a plug for those of us who use VPN rather than DNS service.

SaRaCeNz: Perhaps they're targeting the main ISP's then? Seems that those on the lesser known ISP's don't have an issue. TPP conspiracy maybe? ;0

Nope that's not it.

I am with Telecom/Unotelly and all my devices work fine for Netflix USA.

Not completely correct as I am using DNS (not a VPN) and have had no issues with Netflix USA

Yes, but all (or almost all) people who are facing difficulties are DNS service users.

Longtime reader and lurker. I have to put out a general thank you for all I've learned from geekzone over the past year.

This thread prompted me to finally register and make a comment.

I too am getting the same N8210 "Internet Connection Problem" error. It started about 3 days ago. Yesterday I could get about one out of every 20 attempts to play. Now I can't get anything.

My info:

ISP: Telecom VDSL
Device: Desktop Mac OS 10.9 (usual) (also tried iPad, smartphones, same result)
Router: Airport (usual) (also tried ditching the Airport and just doing Wi Fi direct from Telecom-provided modem/router Home Gateway 630b, same result)
Smart DNS: Getflix (usual) (also tried Unotelly and Unblockus, same result)
Netflix Region: USA (usual) (also tried switching to UK and Canada, same result)
Browser: Firefox (usual) (also tried Chome and Safari, same result)
Lagado.com test: "This request appears NOT to have come via a proxy."
Email type used to sign up: gmail.com
Credit card used to sign up: a real US credit card with a real US address (my uncle's card; he lives there)

Even tho I don't use Roku or Apple TV, I tried this: I got a hold of a TP router and set it up to null route all the DNS servers per this article, which was mentioned above. No change.

Vodafone UFB
Roku 3
Getflix

About one in every 20 attempts to play something will work, otherwise it's "We're having trouble playing this title right now. Please try again later or select a different title."

Static routes were already set up on my router after the latest update to Roku.

Slingshot Global Mode
Same issue - ATV and iPad Netflix not working at all ( ATV forever spinning wheel  / iPad 139:NFErr_MC_NoCDN)
PC seems to work occasionally - but breaks if I try to FFWD too far (N8210)

Tried a free trial of getflix and that seemed to work (on PC only ATV/iPad didn't seem to like it) for UK region

have blacklisted the 4 Public DNS servers from the UnoTelly

It's just crazy to do this - don't they realise that the paying subscribers are no longer torrenting the content they are watching ?!?! - how is $0 per month better then $10 ??

I think I died a little inside :(  - please slingshot find a way !

If there's anything that anyone would like me to trial - happy with running traces etc

Netflix working intermittently - it appears that if I use the US based Dynamo DNSes, things are okay. The others don't work.

Vodafone VDSL + Unotelly DNS only

I've had a support ticket with Unblock uS picked up by 2nd level support.  They asked for for some things overnight which I've just support back to them.

I wouldn't rage at NetFlix. They'd be doing this as a result of upstream pressure from TV & movie execs who are unable to move on from their outdated distribution model.

Do you think this might be related to unlimited data plans on some ISPs...

Netflix US working perfectly on my Android devices this morning (TF101 with KatKiss 4.4.2 & Galaxy Note II with Cyanogenmod 4.4.2 [CM11 M6]).

Haven't had a chance to try the bedroom computer/tv as little miss 2 is busy watching Pocoyo on YouTube :-)
EDIT1: Working perfectly.

Will try my Sony Bravia soonish.
EDIT2: Still not working ><
