Wills1: Does the voice search function work for Netflix? Or is that only for the Amazon Prime service? Also do you use Amazon prime?

It's for Amazon content and Hulu only at the moment.

Just tried to buy from the Geekzone link, but I can't because I'm from outside the US. How did you all purchase them?

I have found Amazon's service to NZ to be pretty amazing and I am often happy to pay a higher price through Amazon, rather than wait for weeks/months to get the goods.

Just curious, is there a way to get Amazon to send the AFTV sent directly without a freight forwarder?

razor2000nz: Anyone notice if you try accessing netflix nz on your AFTV, it wont load and just crash, had this issue last night.

Also if i accessed netflix while on wireless on both AFTV and AFTV stick every program i chose got stuck loading at 25% and wouldn't play, but if i selected the same program on the LG TV app (wireless as well) program would play straight away.

Yep having the same problem also with dns4me.  It only happens if I try and switch to NZ or Australian regions all the rest seem to be fine.

Yeah dns4me couldn't solve the issue(they tried but no luck), swapped to unotelly and everything worked fine, no programs would get hung up over wireless. Bit of a shame about dns4me because everything other app worked fine on their service, and they are "local"

Hi guys,

Just a heads up we had another customer with the same issue (Netflix NZ and Australia not working on ATV and ATV stick). And we actually managed to resolve the issue today, our techs will be rolling the fix to the Netflix service at 11Pm AEST tonight.

Thanks

I should have picked the "Try amazon prime" option to get the two day shipping to Youshop.

Placed order on 26th April Expected delivery: Friday, May 1, 2015 - Wednesday, May 6, 2015 by 8pm seems very slow to me.

Aaaand my Amazon Fire TV just died without any warning. Will be interesting to see if I can get it fixed on warranty. Been over a year since I bought it (although less than a year since the last warranty issue).

Not sure I am super convinced about the quality of the gear. Might look at getting the fairly similar Google Nexus Player or maybe Roku 3 instead.

By comparison I have 2 FireTV's and Two I bought for my inlaws, I have owned and gifted more than 12 Kindle Readers, I have 2 Kindle Tablets, an Echo, and I have had a phone.

Not a single faulty item in all that time across all those items.

Stuff fails, even 1M Rolls Royce.

Yeah, just seems to have been quite flakey. But could have just been bad luck.

Just ordered a new Amazon Fire TV and a Roku 3. This time both of them with extended warranty. Really spoilt by laws like CGA, so feels wrong to have to buy protection for things.
