If you're going to make a comment like that then understand that everything costs money - and to be perfectly fair dns4me couldn't keep going. It is so much money and don't make financial sense to keep going at the rate that Netflix are blocking.

I am not putting them down , just saying that some unblocking service providers work , the one i use works

I wondered how long before dns4me would give up on netflix. I am not a Netflix user but have see the effort they seem to have been applying to keeping Netflix working and they seem to have put up a pretty good fight.

michaelmurfy is quite right though. There are plenty of others sources of material out there - and for me dns4me is still good value. I welcome the fact they will now hopefully have a bit more time to spend on unblocking other services. Hope this announcement doesn't cost them too many customers.

Dear Dns4me Customer,

For the last 7 months we have been battling Netflix and their latest geo blocking attempts.

The current situation is that Netflix has blocked a huge number of server providers including some in the residential ipv6 address space. On average they have been blocking our servers every 3 to 4 days. In the past we have had backup servers ready to go for when our current servers were blocked and we even made a number of changes to try and avoid detection, but unfortunately, Netflix seem to be intent on making life very difficult for all Smart dns services.

We are now at a point where we are having trouble finding unblocked IP ranges (they have blocked so many providers it’s literally a needle in a haystack). Netflix is showing no sign of slowing down with its blocking so unfortunately we have had to make the tough decision to disable support for Netflix USA. Netflix Canada and the Netherlands are still up and running but there are no guarantees that Netflix will not block these servers as well. We are now of the opinion that no provider can maintain a stable and working Netflix USA service if Netflix continue to block server providers at the rate that they currently doing. We know that many of our customers will be upset to hear this but the amount of time, effort and expense in trying to keep the Netflix services running is now having a massive impact on our business. It has been a huge distraction from being able to service our customers who use our other services apart from Netflix (We provide access to many other services around the world).

We appreciate all the support that we have received from our loyal customers and your positive comments and words of encouragement in emails and on Facebook have kept us going. We now look forward to redirecting our efforts into providing new services and improving the existing ones. It goes without saying that we will continue to monitor Netflix situation and if things change for the positive, then we will re-evaluate.

Those customers will move to the other (currently) working providers and after 2 weeks they'll be in the same predicament - trust me. I pay yearly and will continue to do so as it is great value for everything else.

I bought the Getflix lifetime sub for $40-odd USD and use it for livestream, BBC iplayer and Netflix.

Why? Do you think Netflix are so incompetent that they don't know which providers are working and rely on a nz forum to find out? I mean, they could just buy a subscription to getflix or whoever to check. Why would they need the forum to find out?

Ditto. Its web browsers extension only but all 15 netflix regions including usa are still working and have been without down time for the last month. Im also a dns4me subscriber

Have you looked at other forums? Like Whirlpool? Look at the 400+ pages of Netflix Unblocking... You think there's something not in there that has been mentioned here? Or the fact Getflix has a facebook page... It's not exactly a secret!

The reason for the private forums was some providers were trying to keep it under wraps. Dns4me for example stopped posting updates to their Facebook page and kept the fact they were a DNS unblocker for Netflix very very quiet and other providers followed this.

So same rules apply - be kind to them, if it is about a working service then post it in the private forums. I don't care about Whirlpool (which is a forum totally out of control), I care about us as a community.

That makes no sense at all... The info IS PUBLIC. What DNS4ME do now is irrelevant. They've stopped. Surprise, surprise, their email is available for all to read on Whirlpool...

As a "community", it makes 0 tenths of SFA difference if the info is available elsewhere, whether you care about whirlpool or not!

I'm sorry your service is gone, but pretending unblocking is some super secret doesn't change the fact it's public information everywhere else.

After all, Google only comes up with 539,000 hits for "DNS Unblock".
