This sucks, I have a late 2018 LG TV, I am more pleased I gave away my Spark RWC pass. I have recieved regular App updates on my LG TV so I suspect this is a Spark issue not a LG issue.

Oh well....after all that waiting....all my hopes and dreams were dashed lol. They mention that 2017/2018 TVs wont be "available in time for the RWC" so that implies that its still in the works.....then further along they say for 2017/2018 TVs as "Not being in the foreseeable future". I knew i should have got that Sony OLED ....but seriously. Looks like an Apple 4K Box will be the way to go. Anyone have one for sale at a reasonable price haha? Still love my C7.

I might still buy another LG, outside the apps, they seem to have broad support for useful features.

- Alexa built-in (only them), HomeKit (not Sony or Pana), AirPlay (not Pana), maybe GA one day

- HDMI 2.1

- Best Dolby Vision implementation

Tbh, I'm glad I didn't go Panasonic...firefox is dead.

I will head to Noel Lemming to grab this offer just because it's available and I'm eligible, looks like Spark Sport have updated the page with the offer details

$100 or less - free device  (Chromecasts)

$100 or more - credit towards device

I wonder if I can convince Noel that my c9 won’t get spark sport and get that $100 towards the Apple TV 4K

Ironically almost all of those additions got added in the C9 which supports Spark Sport

Slightly OT, but I understood a number of LG TVs from 2018 onwards already support GA - is this not the case in NZ?

GA isn’t supported by Google in NZ so manufacturers see no need to enable it here despite it being available in the US since the beginning of 2018.

If your country is set to “NZ” on the TV then it says not available.

Seriously?! I did not know that. Given (I assume) GA is supported in Aus (going by the Google Home products sold here seemingly being Aus-sourced) I'd not have thought it would have been a terribly big deal to expand this to NZ.

If you set the TV to another country where GA is available, does that impact on more fundamental things like channel frequencies, Freeview On Demand etc?

I went into Noel Leeming and got a Chromecast Ultra and paid the $10 difference, the rep had to look at the internal systems to find the spark sport resolution but was so easy.

Did you provide evidence of the TV purchase post December, or was that in their system?

Most of the big retailers will make an account for you, which is a great idea - so next time you just give them your phone number and they can pull up your account which has all the details for all your purchases

I ask the retailers to add a copy in the account all times, mostly because I don't keep physical receipts (usually scan them) but it makes it so much easier!
