Apple TV+ (1 month)
New NZ$12.99 Old $NZ8.99
Starting 5 December 2022

Since buying it for Foundation I'm getting little value from Apple TV. Nothing ongoing has hooked me. Nothing much to watch randomly.

Do you get value from Apple TV. Has anything hooked you?

There are quite a few things on there that I enjoy so I think $13 a month is still reasonable value.

Admittedly I have quite girly tastes when it comes to TV, so others may have a different view.

There have been a few standout titles for me on Apple TV+ including Severance (one of the best shows I've ever watched), Black Bird, and Slow Horses. To a lesser degree I've enjoyed Ted Lasso, Acapulco and (like you) Foundation. But the number of stand-outs has definitely declined in the last couple of months. I have it on a free trial at the moment and don't plan on paying for it once it ends. Maybe once Severance Season 2 drops, but that's a while away.

That reminds me, two months of Apple TV+ free.

I'm getting value from it.

Mosquito Coast, For All Mankind, See, etc.

Plus new shows and movies coming - I don't mind paying for it.

I got it at 8.99. On 5th of December does it go up for everybody?

I got it for all 3 seasons of See which I’ve finished now. Plan on keeping it for couple more months have a quick look at other shows.

Severance I fell asleep early episodes through part of them, found it a hard watch but intriguing at same time. Into last few episodes now, finding them a bit more exciting.

If $12.99 for everyone on 5th December then I try and watch everything by then, probably wouldn’t have got it if that price at start. See was a killer program and worth it but combined with paying for other services.

Watched Foundation when had it free for year. The movies on Apple TV don’t interest me much, haven’t watched any, but they sound a little boring on the read ups, like either comedy or action, not into Documentary types.

The recent price rise in Apple Music and Apple One has made me cancel my Apple One sub and go back to Spotify + iCloud. I haven't watched Apple TV for quite some time.

I know off topic so be brief, Apple has a new music service out now called Apple Music Voice, looks like all done by Siri.

Has limitations though I’ll give go if YouTube hits me with price increase, no lossless, guessing can’t have own play lists and no offline music. Though do have access to entire Apple Music library. Price $7.49 a month and guessing free for first month trial, showing for me. Won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but another option.

I only use it for watching "For All mankind".  Once that finishes  I will be canceling.

I will cancel it for a few months and then re-subscribe next winter. $9 to $13 means it no longer represents good value for the number of shows I have watched on it. I was waiting for the next season of Ted Lasso, but that can be binge watched next year.

We prefer Spotify but went the Apple One route as the value seemed to be there. I have no interest in a voice only Music service.

The above free 2 months offer didn't work for me, tells me only for new subscribers, so I guess I'm not a 'qualified returning subscriber'. I've been using AppleTV+ since it started, but have stopped my subscription with recent 40+% increase to the monthly price.

There are definitely good shows on there (really enjoyed Severance), but FWIW I find the AppleTV+ user interface bloody confusing and difficult to use if you're trying to find a particular show, even something you were watching recently. I can't understand how Apple has decided that it's a good user interface ??

When the new seasons of Ted Lasso, Foundation and maybe a couple of other shows come back on we will just pay per month then cancel till the following year. $13 for Ted Lasso and Foundation I believe is worth it.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

We got it for 12 months free when we brought a new iPhone.  Didn't watch one single thing on it.  So for us even free it was overpriced :-)
