Cheque is apparently not the only method through which you can choose to receive payment.

Yes, but think of all the forum readers including myself who would never have know anything on this subject if OP hadn’t posted the question.

Most know how to use Google etc but the beauty of this forum is it’s a knowledge base where members and lurkers learn about subjects they would never have encountered or searched for and also acquire links to obscure websites that few including Google come up with. 

Experts in their field are gifted people and everyone appreciates when they share their knowledge with others that are not so lucky. Encouraging questions on all subjects educates and keeps the forum alive and vibrant.

Maybe the FUG should stipulate that there’s no such thing as a dumb question…

So, a post saying something like 'I had this question, so I did this search and I got this answer' will score you a lot more points than showing a complete inability to help ones self.

Forums are great places for posting complex scenarios or unusual situations not suited to a basic bit of search-engine poking.
