Can someone clarify if I'm reading Warner Bros statement right. Does this confirm it was a crew member who spread it? or is the company member they are referring to Hanks? I'm kinda confused.

“We have been made aware that a company member from our Elvis feature film, which is currently in pre-production in The Gold Coast, Australia, has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus)," the statement reads (via Deadline). "We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world. The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment.”

My understanding is that there isn't any treatment for covid 19 unless you are really bad and need hospitalization. So I think it must be someone else.

The NBA has shut down and no more games will be played , all because of one player , Rudy Gobert, who said that people were over reacting to the Virus and then licked all microphones and recorders to prove a point , he is now confirmed  with the virus and most of the NBA players will have to go into quarantine , thus ending the season.

Confirmed on Stuff

And, much more reliably, on ABC.net.au/news

Edit: Add (more) reliable source

Hanks is playing Col Tom Parker in the Elvis film, so its highly likely "the crew member" is him

In a previous role, I ran the sick leave numbers for my team after some concerns were raised. Of the 15 people in my team, two had used exactly their maximum entitlement (20 days) each year for the previous two years. The rest of the team had used variously between zero and ten days each year, with an average of about five. Certainly looked suspicious for the two who were often off sick.

It could be that they have children and are taking sick days of for them as well as themselves.  In our family I do all the sick kid days so I tend to use more sick leave than my partner.

I had considered that - but in this case the two were young guys, early 20s, no children.

Already mentioned. Instant Karma? Just deserts? How to be a dick?

The Peterborough Examiner: The National Basketball Association, NBA, suspends its basketball season when a Jazz player tests positive for the coronavirus — two days after the Raptors played in Utah

It is the first in-season suspension of games in NBA history and capped a fast-moving series of developments over the day.

The NBA has taken the unprecedented step of suspending its regular season indefinitely and immediately, after a player on the Utah Jazz tested positive for the coronavirus.

The player was not immediately identified by the league, which said "the affected player was not in the arena" for a game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder, but several media outlets reported that it was Utah centre Rudy Gobert.

....Gobert, not coincidentally, mocked the impact of the virus earlier this week, ending a game-day morning media session by rubbing his hands over the table he was seated at and licking microphones in front of him...

An eventful day. The consensus is that my wife has Influenza and Pneumonia. She gets the Flu vaccine every year but they are not 100%. Thankfully its not COVID-19 but still serious.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Glad to hear, although Pneumonia can still be really nasty,

My wife got laid up in Hospital for a week and eventually had to have a Thoracostomy to clear it all up..

When the media statement stays treatment, it is a very generic term. It may mean rest, paracetamol and water. That's also a form of treatment.

The word is not meant for any further dissection.

So I see that we now need to invent new term for everything:

I mean, how about just walking up to the door knocking, then putting the pizza on the mat and stepping away....

Coronavirus: Meal and pizza deliveries go contactless

Meal delivery companies are offering contactless options as coronavirus fears spread in the wake of the global outbreak.

"Customers who choose the zero contact service will have their orders placed on a safe surface at the customer's designated delivery location, and they will be informed their orders have arrived via phone."
