My interpretation of receiving treatment' means that someone is giving someone else treatment. That was the same as the 1st case we had, where they were receiving treatment for it. I don't think any other NZ cases have received treatment, apart from isolation, and treatment for COVID 19 would be considered respiratory treatment of some type. I don't consider someone just taking a paracetamol as being considered treatment. However in this case, they may have his own medical staff treating them. I expect media and articles though to be clear and accurate, otherwise it can lead to public confusion.

I cant believe events like Pacifica are going ahead! Some expert said theres no community transmission so it's all good, but putting 20k people in one area sounds like a great way to get community transmission to me!?

I have to shake my head at some mates who think this thing will blow over in a few weeks and it's just a media beatup.

I heard some trade person this afternoon on RNZ saying that we now need to lift the travel restrictions with China, as they now had their numbers under control. Is that not premature? Then you have Donald Trump saying that they were one of the first counties to ban China flights,and that because Europe didn't follow this, they now have a lot of cases, and alot of those people from Europe with this have then flown into the US . I don't normally agree with DT, but that does seem to be the way it has played out. It makes sense IMO to have a travel ban on Europe to based on the way things are heading. The PM in Germany has said they now expect upto 70% of their country to get it. Apparently new travel restrictions will be put in place tomorrow by NZ. This situation was preventable according to the WHO, but there doesn't seem to have been a global unified response.

I'm totally gobsmacked at Jacinda's total lack of leadership on this.

She's adamant she will continue shaking hands and hugging.
She's not cancelling Pacifica.

So, in absence of any leadership from our government, my advice to anyone reading this who are planning to head to Pacifica ...

Don't.

It's just one festival versus your health plus the health of all your extended family (because you will spread it to others if you get it, guaranteed).

home isolation does not mean not being given "treatment". you can be in home isolation and getting "treatment". you are taking one word in a media statement too seriously. so there is no treatment for the sars-cov-2 virus. so why do you assume they get treatment when in a hospital ICU when there is no treatment? because treatment and "treatment" is not the same meaning, yet they are all, forms of treatment.

Yes we will, if we are all vigilant. My big concern is how they will treat a few thousand infections. It is easy when we have 5 and no hospital cases. Flu season approaching....

Outcome in short of several medical crisis meetings and action plans:

This was heavily underestimated (or has not been aware) in Italy and is key to gain time and to act with social responsibility!

You can trust on the lower mortability rate according to your (younger) age, but don't spread it! BTW Kids can have an up to 10.000 times higher virus density than adults but really a very low mortability risk. For high aged adults, this is vice versa.

My wife has leaved two hours ago for the next daily hospital crisis management meeting coming back late in the evening from training and coordination of her doctor colleagues and the medical personnel and from handling of the countless requests by the local health authorities ... So don't expect sources or references from me - it comes from each day's live "hands on" experience.

The infection rate of our city (Hamburg) of the last 10 days has started exactly in accordance with the exponential function.

Firewalls do NOT stop dragons.
In effect we have everything to hide from someone, and no idea who someone is.
