Where? Kerikeri?

Come on man, its a typo? This should be community not a one up spot.
This is a pretty good synaapsis of yeterdays events. The graph shows the expected outcome of lowering Auck from 4 to 3. We could have got to 0 IMO. But at what cost was likely the decision/pressure that got us to this rising (but not wild fire) situation. Will be interesting to see in 2 weeks the effects of the changes made the last couple of days for Auck etc.
The poor chap who passed away, have there been any details (I thought I read comorbid) realeased? All I saw was his Whanau was advised etc.

Fred can you please state your qualifications in this field to be making such statements? And are you located in Auckland?
As far as I am aware you are just some guy frustrated with current pandemic handling.
It would be nice if we are going to make commentry on specifics on the pandemic, ie "its okay to", we really should be attaching the qualifications to base those assumptions on. No offense.

Fred has never claimed any medical qualifications. He has specifically stated, more than once, that he is not a doctor. What he is, is a highly intelligent, very well-informed individual who may or may not possess formal qualifications that he has not bothered to mention, but he has a lot of credibility here, for very good reasons. You should pay attention to him. You might learn something.

That is just straight out gaslighting. Are you suggesting I am unintelligent?
I rely on my SO who has trained in Biology for 8 years in prestigous Colleges abroad prior to their 20yrs exp, published various papers and such. So if I am unclear on anything covid related I refer to them. But I am perfectly capable of reading a peer review and making commentary on it.
I was simply asking if that was a qualified opinion, or just an opinion.

Again, another 1up person. end.

Have a surgery to attend. Will be interesting to see the protocols in place this time around.

Oh Great. Now I'm seeing people push this wide and far as some form of a threat to man kind

It's the adjustment to allow home isolation and testing from the current MiQ rules which are tight and precise. But they're reading it as 'too broad' and that it's going to instantly mean all freedoms have gone and you can be stopped and tested anywhere as a result. So should join a fight to push back on it

A friend who works at a DHB and is dealing with all this stuff has told me the DHBs want the messaging changed around the waiting time between gaps, and changed hard and fast.  Basically say 3 weeks and deal with boosters later.  They want a huge push to have double doses NOW to smother delta, and deal with long term immunity later.

Will be interesting to see if we see that stronger message in the daily reports.  I've definitely seen JA give some commentary around this, but I wouldn't have called it strong.

It was done yesterday. And buried by media in the timeline reports. Naturally, it brings less clicks.

However, welcome to Super Saturday. We will see advertising etc soon

It may also involve in finger pointing the lowest locations to 'encourage' them some more. (as outlined in above). We may get more pretty pictures held up, or a real website

We should be able to do much better than that - if everybody gets with the program.

I fear that'll be as successful as the Level 4 lockdown was, for the same reasons.

Have heard the Waipareira Trust spokesperson (JT?) saying the first they heard of 'Super Saturday' was when it was announced at the press conference - not enough time to stand up resources for that level of undertaking. They'd also closed their drive-thru vaccination centre out in West Auckland recently as well. So not sure how well that message is getting out there to the people delivering it in the places that probably need it most.

I've found my local pharmacy is open til 7pm tonight so I'm getting my 2nd 3.5 weeks after my first. Good enough I think. You're welcome.

In further anecdata; my partner tells me the local vaccination centre she went past today had protestors and idiots yelling obscenities outside.

I share your fear - and frustration that it's going to take time to see trends in both only moderate or no growth in CT cases and hopefully higher vaccination rates from this point on.

Seems to have been a constant thing - worried about the risk of seizing defeat from the jaws of victory - most of those risks the result of stupid selfish behaviour.

I agree, the personal comments and one-upmanship on here is getting tired.

It makes following this thread a chore.

Curious development today; the lack of cases coming through the media.

What does it mean? Probably nothing.

GV27: I hope NZers have long memories when it comes to remembering this. Gangs are not rotary clubs. However this is verging on political reckoning so I will stop there.

Maybe you have a point. Perhaps break infections down by Rotary club membership and target some Rotary clubs. Also, don't forget the Lions club. Wow that sounds kind of silly.

They are talking rapid testing and the planned rollout in line with the home isolation and business use
