Ha ha ha...

And yet we vegetarians may have the last laugh (literally) when those manly-man carnivores who seem to be unable to eat a balanced diet are no longer with us.

If you look at the publication carefully, out of the 900+ substances they studied only ONE thing definitely doesn't cause cancer. Guesses anyone?

Did they conduct that particular test in Guantanamo Bay?

Please, not another meat vs veggie thread. We have already done that. I am a vegetarian, it is my choice, I try to respect other choices and not get all superior about it unless responding to provocation, so don't make fun of mine and I won't make fun of yours.

I use advertising as my sole source of nutritional advice, because it isn't a very complicated topic at all!

Also, noone running an ad would have an agenda or bias right?

The thread shouldn't be about omnivores vs vegetarians. It's about lying or twisting facts in advertising to support ones agenda.

All advertising is about twisting facts to suit your agenda or position.

There's a big fat line between twisting facts (not being truthful) and blatant lying (Making up stuff that don't exist).

Vegan's often play VERY loose with scientific facts and studies. For example completely misrepresenting the conclusions of a study or similar.

I would by default consider any thing any vegan person or site said of a scientific nature, anti-meat, to be incorrect until I looked at the evidence or study myself. Although to be fair, there is so much belief bias in all nutritional science, from what doctors and the govt says, to various diets, that it might be wise to do that with everything anyone claims - look into the science yourself.

Protein is not all equal btw, meat has 'whole proteins', which means every amino - plants don't. Which is why vegans for example get choline deficiencies etc.

Is this serious?

If so, I am sorry, but lol. Nutritional science is amongst the softest of sciences because its impossible to control all the variables. As such, most conclusions are really not very certain, unless they actually understand the metabolic level of what it is (which is not very common). Working between the lines, all the studies, and the metabolic processes you can figure stuff out. Stuff that you would literally never get from some official source atm.

See this is a great example, of this fact distortion that goes on. That cancer effect, is from processed meats. That and flash fried red meat. This is well known by now, its due to the transformation of the meat via either added salts/chemicals, or cooking at too high a heat.

Not only that, but its not a wildly strong effect.

Solution - don't eat too many processed meats or flash fried beef. Its not hard, slow cooked meats are incredible, there are great choices other than beef, like fish, chicken, turkey, pork, organ meats, shellfish, fatty protien foods like eggs, dairy - and no one should be eating bacon from dawn to dusk every day.

But somehow you got from that, the truth, lol, to all the meat eaters are gonna die. LOOOOOL.

Nothing on earth would induce me to eat broccoli instead of meat!! It is a foul creation of the Devil himself, Beelzebub's very breath given form.
