Singapore have posted a routes update to their page. Details released tomorrow. But scraping the schedules you can see all 3 NZ ports get the chop from 21mar-30apr

That's another hop point I referred to some pages back now closed as I suggested may happen.

Mahon:

I rang yesterday and was told not to expect it before 1 April and they were still deciding on how they would implement the injections due to not wanting to inflate their waiting room any more.

Pharmacies can do the vaccinations

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

According to the papers, the flu vaccine (normal one not for Covid) is "available from today" for people who are usually on the priority list.

I am on that list, so rang the medical centre. They knew nothing and said "You could try ringing back on Monday?"

Yes, I believe April 1 is the date for those not on the 'special case' list due to age or underlying medical issues.

Just watching a press conference Scott Morrison is doing, I'm interpreting his words that an International Travel Ban is now in place for the whole world

Thats a good plan. How can you finish bailing out a flooded boat when there are daily leaks as well

The 30% track that early-stage European cases grew by in the first stages of their outbreaks when the exponential bit started happening, and the regular 1pm/230pm updates we seem to be getting from the Ministry of Health.

Ok, so if you look at an EU that has about12 cases and see how that goes? You would probbaly need our 12 to have been CT cases? otherwise with NZ you are tracking imports not spread

I think once we do see 30% uptick then we are likely to be seeing the beginning of the community spread. Until then the dribs and drabs are likely to be imports. But at some point we're going to run out of luck when it comes to them not triggering it.

Apparently some students were commenting that even if they get it, it's doesn't matter because they are young.

It makes you wonder what sort of adults are we growing here.

Batman:

nathan: It's been proven that veterinarians are the fastest medical professionals that can get up to speed successfully using ventilators etc

i'm not surprised, you could teach a monkey how to push buttons on a ventilator, press on button, dial up the number, press start.

but i wonder why it takes an already qualified doctor 6 years to successfully treat a patient in a life threatening condition who has multiple organs affected all at once (lung only being one of them) https://www.cicm.org.au/Trainees/Program/General

If you read that website fully you have to be virtually a 'Jack of All Trades' specialist. Which is to a large extent what a GP has to know.

But the most important bit is that you must know what you do not know and know who does know

From first day at Uni:

12 - 14 yrs to become a GP

13 - 15 yrs to Orthopaedic surgeon

and it is the same for most surgical specialities.

10 - 12 yrs for a rhumatologist

14 yrs for obstetrics and gynaecologist

14 yrs for a proctologist

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

They are part of the Me Me Me generation created entirely by the narcissistic nature of social media.
