I can't recall where I had heard it, I think was on the radio, but maybe they amended it, or it was something they were planning and haven't yet released. But the new restrictions they have in place today https://www.bay939.com.au/news/local-news/115468-borders-closed-overseas-travel-banned banning outwards travel to Australians, is more restrictive too than NZs, we don't appear to have yet banned it.

I can see all the countries where there are restrictions at https://www.nytimes.com/article/coronavirus-travel-restrictions.html?auth=login-google

UK doesn't seem to have much in place yet, nor Irleand, even though Ireland have closed schools.

You heard what you wanted to hear. Governments are being very careful and they aren't releasing their planning for this reason. Please don't post things like this without attributing them. This is exactly what starts panic buying and all sorts of crazy behaviour.

There will be no real panic buying. But for sure - expect a higher initial demand when people prepare themself for precaution-self-quarantine when asked not to leave home for that period of time. Or organize a dedicated delivery service with no contact by community or neigborhood.

Hopefully we implement buying times for certain population demographics, so most at risk people don't miss out on supplies. In oz they have a time when elderly can shop, which is before everyone else.

So one of the new cases had been to the Gold Coast and got back five days after I did. To my knowledge no one in our party has had any symptoms of anything, but it does reinforce the situation in Australia is beyond what they have a handle on.

Before watching this video, even though monkeys are our closest relatives, remember we're in New Zealand, and we produce more food than we can eat. We won't be having food riots.

Hungry monkeys brawl over food as coronavirus hits tourism in Thailand

Guardian News

A large crowd of monkeys has been filmed brawling over a pot of yoghurt in a street in Thailand. A fall in tourist numbers amid the Covid-19 outbreak has resulted in far fewer people offering them food. The video was filmed in Lopburi, a city north-east of Bangkok that is famed for its monkey population

I saw this a week or so ago online as it has been shared around a lot. It reminded me of planet of the apes.

The PM has said everyone who has returned within the last 14 days should now self isolate for the balance of the 14 day. So this would include those ho got in before the deadline. So if someone returned 10 days ago, they then self isolate for the balance, which is  4 days. At least that is how I understand it works. Took me a while to find this announcement as it got pushed down in with all the other announcements, but it is here https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/120378025/coronavirus-those-who-got-in-before-the-deadline-now-also-advised-to-selfisolate

No new jury trials. Trials underway will continue just none starting. Think they said for the next two months.

All Kiwis travelling overseas are advised to return home. That can only mean we are planning to shut down international airports here to cease all arrivals from anywhere by anyone. Ban all imported cases effectively

Or because it's becoming uneconomical to keep commercial passenger aircraft in the air, and soon there may be no way to get home? Once that happens, passenger movement comes to an end anyway. Airports will remain open for freight movement.

International routes are reducing with all airlines by at least 85% Coupled with mass border closures happening it will be nearly impossible to leave where you are without a government charter flight.

Geektastic: Without revealing sources, or being specific, there may be a reasonably major announcement soon.

THis?

Government expected to announce further restrictions on gatherings amid COVID-19 pandemic

First festivals and mass gatherings were cancelled and now the Government is planning to announce restrictions on smaller get-togethers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Details will be revealed on Thursday and it could mean bad news for weddings, gigs, religious services and funerals if they can't manage social distancing.

Australia has 500 outside and 100 inside, and the US has advised 10.

All is globally interwoven. Medical, food production and logistics personnel (amongst others) all over the world will be the heroes of that crisis. We all have to appreciate this. We are considering using the now unemployed gastronomic's staff as helpers in agriculture and logistics.

They are a fully owned subsidiary of Qantas but who knows. I wouldn't give refunds if I was in their position. Cash is king at the moment, especially for aviation businesses.
