Jase2985:

Ive been looking on the covid-19 website but i cant see to find anything.

What is the definition of a gym?

i watched the MOH presentation of the vaccine passport that presented for the fitness industry where they clearly started what a gym is but i cant find it written anywhere.

It should show up on parliament's website today when they government push the "traffic light" system through under urgency today.... But you will have to look in the actual bill...

The COVID website wont be changed ( if at all)  until the law is passed...

I know the lady who takes my wife's Zumba class she goes to periodically has classified herself as a gym and has already sent out a COVID vaccine pass requirement, this class is done in a small hall rather than a traditional gym facility. I would think it would come down to the nature of the activity itself (so by extension would likely include martial arts studios, yoga / pilates studios etc) and whether or not its indoors

May be of interest if responding to concerns of adverse effects of vaccination of older people.

Research paper:  Jabagi et al, "Myocardial Infarction, Stroke, and Pulmonary Embolism After BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine in People Aged 75 Years or Older", JAMA, 22 Nov 2021

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2786667

Population-based study based on the French National Health Data System linked to the French national COVID-19 vaccination database.

Evaluated hospitalisation outcomes of 3.9 million persons 75 years or older who had received at least 1 dose of the BNT162b2 vaccine and 3.2 million who had received 2 doses as of April 30, 2021.

"In the 14 days following either dose, no significant increased risk was found for any outcome", with RI's typically around 1 +/- 0.1

Who do you call to talk about the auckland border and crossing it?

I can't find a number anywhere, my son is getting a covid test every day but not getting the results back within 72 hours.

If your son qualifies for an exemption, just go. If he's nice and has his reasons for going sorted, then they'll let him through. If he doesn't fall udner one of the exemptions on the page here: https://covid19.govt.nz/travel/permitted-travel-at-different-alert-levels/personal-travel-across-an-alert-level-boundary/list-of-permitted-personal-travel-across-an-alert-level-boundary/ then he will need to apply here: https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-health-advice-public/covid-19-travel-within-new-zealand

A friend of mine who lives in Auckland left during September as his father outside of Auckland was given a couple of weeks to live. According to the MOH site, he was eliglible to leave (with a negative test) as he needed to provide care and no-one else already outside Auckland could do it. He was let straight through. He had printed out the page from the MOH, and had his negative test (and was double jabbed).

Yes, he has the exemption under permanently moving address.   He talked to the police officer on the way in to auckland and he said they won't let him out until he has a negative result where the test was administered within the last 3 days. The test he took almost 3 days ago hasn't come back with results yet, so , he'll be stuck in Auckland if he doesn't get the results in the next 11 hours.

This is constantly happening with the testing, which is why I am only asking for a number of someone who can provide better advice on an impossible system.

Other trick is call your gp and ask if you can look up the results against NHI. May be processed but in the notification queue.

Geektastic: I read this morning that the authentication app for reading Covid certificates won't read international codes when the border opens.

And that we have a separate code for international travel that can be read overseas.

I am surely not the only person wondering why we didn't just use the international codes and an app that reads them....

Control over the issuing certificate/key and ability to revoke it comes to mind. (and where the data about you is stored)

International ones follow EU standard. Our header has its own NZCP:

I'm sure that will be helpful when international tourism resumes... All businesses equipped with a reader that won't read tourist codes.

They can always push an iOS/Android store update to update the app before then..

Yes, have been doing that too. The GP must be getting sick of him calling up so many times.... told him to try and get out of auck later today anyway, show them the double vax, only been in auckland for the day, they have a slip showing they had the test just under 3 days ago....and they're 18yrs old, very low risk.

Although, the cop seemed to think it wasn't enough when they entered auck this morning.

Found out yesterday that someone I know here in Melbourne (A friend, but not a close one) died from COVID a couple of weeks ago.

She was double vaccinated, but in her 70s. Particularly sad as she died after 3 weeks in the ICU at the Alfred Hospital, where earlier in her life she the deputy director of nursing. She also trained nurses all over the world, travelling even in the last couple of years as a consultant to places where nursing standards are generally lower than here. She came out of retirement last year to help out in some of the Victorian quarantine hotels. Someone who dedicated their life to the healthcare of others who, more likely than not, caught covid from someone who did not care about protecting others.

The international certificate follows the WHO guidelines, is valid for a year and has the batch numbers for your vaccine.

The domestic one is valid for six months and has none off the extra information that is required for international travel.
