And consider they only publish ones that are considered high risk..

SJB:

The locations of interest list is getting ridiculous.

The MOH would save a lot of time and trouble by just posting the following

Location of Interest - New Zealand

or just have a traffic light colour green orange red in each town, or if can't be bothered, each region

Glad someone mentioned this. Stuff also annoys me with their list where you need to scroll through pictures and paragraphs of words before getting to the list when the label says places of interest.

There was a GZ member that had a great website during Delta which had nice clear lists. Is that still around?

This is good, can filter and use date order

LOI's are still relevant. A time will come when it wont be relevant, but even then you can filter to your town, and while that may be a large list, its pertinent for locals. But when its in every suburb in every town, no point.

Frankly, I’d like to see checkout assistants able to refuse service to such people and buzz security to throw them out with a trespass order so they can’t shop there again for 3 months. It might wake up some of those entitled customers.

I would quite like to see Foodstuffs and Countdown set up a shared trespass register for abusive customers. These mongrels will learn pretty quickly when they are denied access to food, but I guess it'll never happen because it's not politically correct.

This is a pretty decent idea. It's not as if they wouldn't have access to food, presumably they could still order online where they can't abuse someone in person.

If you are scanning, isn’t the notification that someone was at a LOI suppose to be automatic.

I don’t read the locations of interest as I expect the Covid Applic to let me know.

Assuming I scan everywhere am I safe to assume my app will tell me if I've potentially been exposed?

Constantly checking manually for LOI that I've been at?

Edit: beaten to the punch

Yes, this does happen. I've received two notifications this week for both Wellington and Christchurch airport. The notifications came through on the covid app.

There has been so much coverage of this. But this isn't new, people have been having trouble getting MIQ spots as there are only a limited number of them. Maybe it is time for them to get some MIQs run by private companies using empty hotels? We are going to have other pandemics as the world opens up are humans encroach more into nature.

Not really, no. It relies on the other party using it. And agreeing to upload their data. Else it gets to a point where it's too late once found out to send one, or not classified enough risk.

(they have been for high risk.. see above)
And almost forget bluetooth unless they changed criteria.

Should be using the list primarily. Per Dr B in standups. But it may ping if all the stars align

Private or no, the general public are now pretty watchful to NIMBY them.
Example Rotorua upon people checking out upgrades to aircon at a hotel.

Auckland's a bit fed up with numbers we have, rest of country thinks Auckland has so many crowd in some more.

Only a certain number of hotels have, or can be upgraded to improve ventilation to limit cross contamination.
Have ability to have secure surroundings and spaces for exercise/smoking.

Overseas where people were effectively locked in their rooms and no smoking its a tad easier.
Here people are moving every day up and down corridors,
in elevators its not that easy as Hotels were not designed with infection control in mind.

Pass the Parcel...

As to this particular case I don't really understand why they couldn't stay in the EU as he's Belgian.

And I don't buy the '6 months to get married' bit either.

She used to read the news on Prime around 2006.
