Sounds plausible! This could explain why it was the health portal that was asking for her driver’s licence details, as if it had been successfully connecting to RealMe she’d have been verified via that (given she’s already proven her identity as part of setting that up).

RealMe accounts can be unverified, such as mine. I hadn't gotten around to the Post Office to get it done yet--and I suspect due to the lockdown in certain regions there will be many in the same boat as me. In these cases it'll ask you to provide an alternative means of identity. I just supplied my passport details and that was all it needed.

Yeah, I do get that, but in my partner's case her RealMe account had been fully verified ages ago, hence why it didn't make sense!

I'd say the volumes of people registering might be causing some problems with APIs requests flying around between services.

My email is hosted on iCloud and the verification email came through fine.

Interestingly when I initially tried to sign in I used RealMe but it insisted that I enter a 2FA rolling code which is impossible as I have never had a 2FA app. So, I just signed up for a My Health account instead and that seems to have worked fine.

Hard to imagine how you've managed that. But, if you ever need to, checkout "authy"; it can be run on the desktop.

Ramblings from a mysterious lady who's into tech. Warning I may often create zingers.

So fun fact. Vaccine certs and coming to Google Pay and Apple Wallet.

https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-vaccines/covid-19-requesting-proof-vaccination/my-covid-record

Has me excited.

Why??

The kicker on that page is "Vaccination certificates (End of November)" ... its going to be seriously DOA...

That's 6 weeks away, even at the current glacial vax rates we will be over 90% double jabbed ( we are currently 83/60)...

Those that haven't had their Jabs by then are not going to be swayed by losing access to Summer concerts....

I can't see stores voluntarily mandating vaccination without the govt saying yes...

and at the moment there is little government comment on the  "middle ground" between those that will be required to check Vax status and those that will be forbidden to check....

Might still be relevant to occupations with gov't mandated vaccine requirements.

Of more interest to me is the international vaccination certificate and the fact it will (purportedly) meet 'international standards'.  End of Nov is fine for that.  Doubt many will be travelling overseas before then.  Pre-covid, mid-Jan to Feb involved a lot of overseas business travel.  It would help of issues re the certificates and isolation on return are resolved before then 🤞🤞🤞🤞.

Sort of related.

(from 1 Nov ..!!!  Ouch)

Personally, if the travel is back on the agenda, I would isolate for family & others safety, mandated or not.  Preferably at home!

BarTender: Seems like MoH didn’t setup the outbound email properly. Has everyone checked their spam mailbox??

For my hotmail.com address, the emails just never arrived.

I can confirm that it never arrived with my hotmail address either. I ended up using my back-up email (Gmail) which came instantly.

Ok so it's the Microsoft environment that's got a problem.

A few of us should perhaps use the contact Link, point them this direction. If people out there in hybrid 365 are using their work account to sign up it's going to impact them also

It may be not the Microsoft environment but misconfiguration on the MoH email settings causing it to be blocked.

Someone could please post the sender's address so we can check, perhaps?

From: My Health Account <no-reply@identity.health.nz>

I suspect the problem is that they're a new sender sending lots of very similar emails so it is probably triggering some anti-spam features at certain providers.

Fastmail includes some info from their spam filtering system in the headers:

X-Spam-known-sender: no

X-Spam-sender-reputation: 500 (none)

X-Spam-score: 1.8

X-Spam-hits: BAYES_00 -1.9, DCC_CHECK 1.1, FSL_BULK_SIG 2.497, HTML_MESSAGE 0.001, ME_SENDERREP_NEUTRAL 0.001, MIME_HTML_ONLY 0.1, SPF_HELO_NONE 0.001, SPF_PASS -0.001, TVD_PH_BODY_ACCOUNTS_PRE 0.001, UNPARSEABLE_RELAY 0.001, LANGUAGES en, BAYES_USED user, SA_VERSION 3.4.2

X-Spam-source: IP='149.72.121.238', Host='wrqvtwzz.outbound-mail.sendgrid.net', Country='US', FromHeader='nz', MailFrom='nz'

Looks like they're using Mailgrid who are a professional outfit who handles mass emails so they are following best practice as much as they can.

Not much the MOH can do other than wait for their reputation to improve which will take some time.
