I wonder if the fast food industry will see a crazy boost after the 4 weeks are up.

PM on TV now.

Reduce contact. Do not leave home unless you are essential or you are doing the required run for food or emergency.

I got a text today from my bin collection company, Waste Management. I was very surprised to see that there will be no recycling (recycling must be placed in waste bin). Greenwaste collections have also been put on hold. I would have throught these kind of services were deemed essential.

Wow, I finally got an email from a business saying they didn't consider themselves essential and were shutting down! Miracles never cease.

People don't seem to understand the difference between WFH and Essential!

I've had two. Everyone else seems determined to take the mickey.

Basically what WCC communicated via press release - I've posted a link a few pages back.

Emm.... seems a lot of people can't enjoy home isolation now...

Hang on, so you can get Covid-19 if you're within 6 feet of someone having sex?

Where's the placebo controlled prospective randomized double blinded studies here?

Unfortunate news regarding an IT colleague in the US who has succumbed to the pressure of trying to get people home, huge financial pressure, and the illness all around him. He has opted to take his own life.

Guys, I know this is scary. I know there is a lot of pressure, financial and otherwise. Don't bear the weight of this alone. We live in a country where people can get financial assistance.

Maybe the Mods could make this information sticky in the first post, and perhaps put a similar message up in the sticky section of a few of the forum sections.

In the midst of all the "businesses open when they shouldn't be", here's something that just landed in my inbox:

As of Tuesday 24th March 2020, we will be unable to answer phone calls.

We will be closed and no online (TradeMe, Allgoods or Craftys Website) orders will be picked, packed or dispatched.

We will REOPEN when the NZ Government advises, then it will be business as usual.

We understand this is a trying time for everyone and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and support.

Stay safe and look out for each other.

I'm sure that, for every idiot business wanting to milk this, there are large numbers of others doing the right thing.
