Our work put out the 'everyone back of the office April 4th' email a few weeks back and confirmed it yesterday.

Since the last week of January we have been working in split bubbles; half the team in the office one week, then home the next.

I expressed my concern that this change might be 'a tad' early, given that we are a nationwide business and some areas haven't had the peak yet.

Currently have the 'rona.. Do not recommend.

One of the kids tested positive on Monday after being sent home from school for sneezing. Rest of us were negative. Was a bit sniffly over the next few days but as I suffer from year round allergies that's nothing new really. Woke tired on Wednesday, by lunchtime I was starting to feel ill, tested around afternoon tea and was positive. Told my boss I'd tested positive, decide to go for a lie down around 4, basically didn't get out of bed until now. First 24 hours after the positive test were worst so far, headache, stuffy/runny nose, sneezing, fever/chills/sweats, some joint/muscle pain, cough, brainfog etc, that's mostly faded but it's the fatigue that's been really killer. Lying in bed watching TV or reading a book has been tiring, getting up to go to the loo or get a drink has been exhausting. Fingers crossed I seem to be over the worst of it now, still definitely don't feel 100%, but this evening is the first time since Wednesday I've had the energy to jump on the PC for a bit. Really hoping it doesn't have a round 2 waiting for me around the corner.

Both kids got over it pretty fast (give or take under 24 hours of being "sick" excluding runny nose/sneezing), but they are young, healthy as well as both having had their first dose of the vaccine. SWMBO has so far managed to avoid getting it at all. I'm triple dosed, but have a few health issues which put me in the "vulnerable" camp, so at this stage I'm just glad that while it's been Not Fun it could have been much worse.

Likewise, we had the 'welcome back errryone you can come in if you like ' around work

Booked welcome back meetings etc.
Then went... Maybe in akl. But in actuality If we consider it, we've all avoided so far. and as such still have possibility to take out 2 of the team each. Or other parts of office take us, We can't operate efficiently still
Blast. Back to keeping split groups.

After two weeks of hell I feel I maybe out of danger. I am breathing for myself. Very tired, still cannot eat much. At least I can write this. Once I am back in the land of the living anyone who says Covid is just a cold or flu is going to get a kick to the crotch.

So I get out of isolation 2 days ago and now feel 100%.

Now, now kid #2 tests positive, with new symptoms.

Kid #1 had identical symptoms to me at the same time last week but only finally tested positive 2 days ago, and is fine now, so we're thinking he had 2-3 bad RAT results.

The missus has no symptoms, but is stressing that she's going to have to take another week off work. At least 2 of us won't have to isolate, and so can shop, etc., but now I'm starting to understand why some people would consider hiding positive results, especially if money was super tight and they couldn't afford to take time off work. Not condoning it though.

Wife's got the SMS saying she can leave home isolation. She still feels a sore throat. Daughter and myself still had negative results on day 7 and no symptoms.

I went to the supermarket today but still aware of distancing.

Concern wasn't listened to; have to be back in the office - though I have said that I will come in on Thursday as I need to have a couple of meetings and be nice to have those in a quiet zone

The only concession was that I can sit across from where I normally sit in order to be slightly spaced out more.

I get it and understand the business, but I still also have this concern

Last day of quarantine for our household.

Our eldest son is the only one who has tested positive, despite there being a number of symptoms felt by myself and my wife. Could be seasonal cold. Could be seasonal allergies. Could be false negative RATs. Don't know.

We'll do one last test this evening and we're all allowed back into the wild.

It's been...boring. For my son it's been particularly painful, as his first game of the football season was this past Sunday (yesterday) and he really wanted to play - but obviously couldn't. He's been largely OK with a few cold symptoms and a bit of lethargy/fatigue.

Got to say, I am looking forward to getting away from these people. 🤣

I have decided to return to the office today, ending my month long working from home period.

I know a lot of people are well set up to work from home, but for me working from home means having to use a 15 year old laptop with a tiny screen and it's just awful. It will be great to feel productive again.

Just over 1 month since Mrs Duck caught covid and she's still racked with breathlessness from even the mildest exertion. Regular wandering around is fine, but anything that gets the heart slightly rate up or the lungs slightly moving lead to wheezing and asthma like symptoms. E.g. a 30 meter walk up an inclined drive will have her panting and needing a rest. No post covid symptoms for anyone else in the family.

Doctors have been booked.

Salt in the wound for her is she was quite the fitness fanatic, which is completely impossible at the moment.

Pleased to read that most people at GZ don't seem to be in the same boat and are recovering fine.

Today I am finally getting up and getting around. The level of fatigue I get is really surprising me and just the process of getting up, showering and dressing reminds of the the feeling after a 10k run in my young days. I have also lost considerable weight. My O2 range is now 93-98%. Has been a scary couple of weeks.

Awesome. Obviously not in a good place yet, but as long as the trend is heading the right way, that's great news

I'm honestly beginning to wonder if I have had COVID and didn't realise it (or maybe even currently do). The worst thing is the brain fog and the fatigue - and these don't always go away when you recover.
