We finished our home isolation last Tuesday. Wife still had a bit of a sore throat but nothing else. She never developed a temperature or headache - only the sore throat and coughing. Both myself and daughter did not catch it and got three negative RATs over the week.
We were out and about in time to attend father-in-law's funeral, which had about 100 people, plus a light lunch with about 85 people attending.
We will see anything coming out of this service in the next couple of days. Hopefully nothing.

My wife was admitted to Hospital for an unrelated illness, and got a fever the following day. She has RAT and PCR tested 4 times all negative (over 9 days). They sent her home from Hospital, with a headache, fever and rising infection rates in her blood tests. She has been isolating in our home. She has all the classic symptoms for C19, but all those tests and no results. None of the rest of us have been near her, even avoiding sharing bathrooms etc. She has worn a N95 mask the whole time. Primary concern was for my daughter who due to C19 has missed so many events and had a school camp she has been waiting 2 years for.
She went off today and back Wednesday. Hopefully, she doesn't bring back Covid with her as so many kids have done from Camps we have heard.
I was so happy for her to be able to go, especially after having a third birthday canned just a couple of weeks ago, which she has been a total champion about.
My booster went well, other than a sore arm I didn't have any other negative side effects which was a relief, last time, the third primary vaccine kicked my backside.

So 4 shots altogether?
I thought that was only for the “severely at risk” and was yet to be approved.
That is what I have received. I didn't stop me getting Covid-19 but I firmly believe it is why I am here today and able to type this reply, my GP feels the same. I am told that MOH etc are considering a second booster for folks like me.
We finished up with our isolation last Tuesday, like MF.
Son (17) who had Covid 19 went back to football on Friday, which was too soon, in my opinion, but he never really got sick, so he felt fine.
Played Friday afternoon and again on Sunday afternoon. He said he really felt it. He's insanely fit and healthy normally, so that's quite unusual.
The rest of us have continuously tested negative and all have felt slightly fluey.

Geektastic:
I wonder what percentage of the population have had it.
I can only think of one person in NZ that I know IRL who has. I think 6 or so in the UK.
I know a lot that have had it. I do live in Auckland though.
Myself and my wife, three of my stepsons (none of whom live with us), one of their partners, both their kids. My two nephews and my brother in law. That's just in my 'direct' family, only my parents and my sister have not had it. This is spread out from Auckland to the Hawkes Bay.
I know a lot of other people who have had it, and I probably know more that have had the symptoms, but have tested negative (and are close, as in same household, to other positive cases). The RAT is pretty unreliable. My aunt (a GP) told me that the RAT will give beter results if you swab the back of your throat instead of up your nose.
I can't prove it, and don't know if we ever will, but my feeling is that the 'true' numbers of people that have had Omicron in NZ is about 50% higher that the reported cases. My eldest stepson, while he did test (faintly) positive as the rest of his family had it, had absolutely no symptoms.

The strong recommendation is no exercise for 7-10 days from the end of symptoms from memory, I'd have to check with my wife.
Young men are particularly at risk from memory as well.
I know you can only do so much, but I'd be strongly encouraging a few weeks of light or no exercise.
Oblivian: So goes the '7 days as long as negative or until no longer symptomatic'. To cover the lower detection point when the body is still clearly fighting something and showing you it is
Read their site again. It's seven days. Period. They advise not to test - only the contacts need to test.

In other words toss them the Xbox controller, look meaningfully at the couch, and they'll take care of the rest.

Our son (18) got it back in Feb after having moved to Sweden to play. The team doctor said to give it 48 hours after being symptom free before returning to training as there is no "official" advice at all.
He said it was at least another seven days before he felt anything like his previous levels of strength and fitness and closer to 10 before the cough left him.

Self-isolation reduces the risks of spreading the virus to others. You will need to isolate for at least 7 days while you recover. Your 7 days start from Day 0 — the day your symptoms started or the day you got tested.
You do not need a test to leave isolation. If you do, the result would likely show as positive but that does not mean you are infectious. If you are still sick, stay home until you are well and for 24 hours after your symptoms resolve.
And yet, there that last bit is.
Staring at us to stay stay home.
Might not be as tight as 'isolation' itself. But 'stay home' in some cases for people that don't work from home or are retired. May as well be.
(or is that you also backing it..)
A strange by product of Covid for me, A few years ago I lost my sense of smell and taste thought to be caused by medication I was on at the time. However since getting Covid my sense of smell and taste has returned, go figure. No idea why but I will take it.
