Although there have been 80,000 people reported with this illness in the world, if many haven't been tested and recorded in the stats, that number could be 200-300 thousand if not more. Not only that, but potentially the death rate percentage could be significantly less.
It's >95,000 now. I think that WHO have advised that the number of asymptomatic cases is not anywhere near as high as 2-3x confirmed - where extensive testing of contacts had been carried out. Some or many "asymptomatic" may be "pre-symptomatic".
Of course that's going to be a very variable thing - awareness of Covid-19 "going around" could incentivise people with mild symptoms to present for testing - on the other hand there will be people who know they're got symptoms and could be cases - but will avoid that, which throws a huge spanner in the works for "containment".
