I saw the back of one in Wellington the other day, it looked nice but the BUILD YOUR DREAMS on it cheapens the car a bit for me. I'd be interested to see the inside of it.

Some people don't like the big Bring Your Dreams on the back but then how different is that from the big Range Rover on the back of their cars?
I wonder how easy it would be to flick those letters off the boot? ie., how are they attached? WHile it wouldn't stop me from buying one, that's the one bit I don't like about them.
The dealers were asked about this in their YouTube video where they said it is an option to have it removed, so it doesn't sound like it would be too much of an issue.
The letters are glued on. You can try a gentle heat gun for removal, but obviously assume all the risks to the paintwork, or get the dealer to sort prior to delivery (for a fee). There will likely be glue residue if you try the DIY route but CRC does a product that removes this really well (called film off if I remember).

My car is ready on Thursday so I will ask then.
Does anyone know if the recently announced servicing charges in Aus (as covered in this post) will also apply in NZ, or if not how this will be managed here? (@sen8or - I imagine you may have the low-down on this?)
This is being discussed at dealer level now, nothing I can say until we release publicly but there will be fixed price servicing offered with details about what is covered in each service.
The Dunedin Dealer is in the process of setting up now.
I've got a test drive booked for 2 week's time.
Looking forward to seeing how it is compared to my Leaf.

If those prices are correct, that is ridiculous. I wonder how they will be able to justify those service costs when servicing on EV's is so much less than ICE vehicles?

I can understand a dealer wanting to keep a revenue stream for their service departments, but in reality the service departments are going to be reducing in size drastically with the move from ICE to EV. Making the EV customers subsidise that is not going to be a popular move.
I had not realised that servicing was going to be that high, esp for an EV.
Hypothetically speaking I wonder having plunked down my deposit and the car ready tomorrow (pick up on Thursday) is it too late to pull out and get my deposit back?

@maoriboy: Out of interest, what are the servicing expectations on MG’s EVs? The BYD is often mentioned as the MG’s most obvious competitor, so would be an interesting comparison.
MG NZ don't provide any details,
BUT MG UK's site says the MG ZS EV needs servicing every 2 years/50K km, which changes sir filters, brake fluid and key batteries!!, coolant gets done every 5 years - so nowhere near as often as the BYD
https://www.mg.co.uk/servicing
For what it's worth, I found an online copy of the 2021 BYD Tang user manual.
I would assume (maybe wrongly) that the atto 3 (Yuan plus) is similar.
If you pop down to page 156, it outlines the servicing.
Lots of usual 'check and inspect' items.
The major bits are:
Replace every 4 years or 100,000km, whichever comes first
Replace every 2 years or 40,000km, whichever comes first
Replace for the first time after 24 months or 40,000km,whichever comes first. Then replace every subsequent 24 months or 48,000km, whichever comes first
