I hear on the radio you have an accident on the corner of Hansons Lane and Arthur St. Hope it wasn't too serious.

richms:

That is an offence for the driver, not the car. So if the registered owner of the car cannot or will not identify the driver at the time, or the driver disputes that they were driving its a waste of time doing anything with it.

"wasnt me" is all that it takes to have nothing happen when you only have video of a car doing something like that.

Yes, but they could at least make the effort, and if the owner doesn't disclose the driver, they commit an offence and can be prosecuted. It's as if the Police can't be bothered these days (or too busy), like I said before, no consequences.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Idiot (Sped down Arthur Street) exiting Arthur Street didn't check @ the Compulsory Stop that the way was clear (Which he couldn't see as a rubbish truck was turning left into Arthur Street at the time!!!!!)

Pulled out to turn right into Hansons and T-Boned a motorcyclist going straight through on Hansons following the rubbish truck!

Ambulance eventually arrived, and did not leave for ages and ages! So yes he was hurt.

The unmitigated muppet of the highest order I saw today riding a Yamaha Hayabusa in shorts and a tee shirt.

I can't believe that in this H&S obsessed world, it is still legal to ride a motorcycle on the road without any gear other than a helmet being required.

I suppose at least they would be able to identify him after he had slid 100 metres down the road....

Suzuki Hayabusa

Look up Rollie Free for an example of minimal clothing whilst setting an American land speed record on a motorcycle of 242km/h.

"Free lay flat on the motorcycle wearing only a bathing suit, a shower cap, and a pair of borrowed sneakers – inspired by his friend Ed Kretz. This resulted not only in the record, but also produced one of the most famous photographs in motorcycling history, the "bathing suit bike.""

I have seen the image - it is pretty cool. Of course, we might expect a higher safety standard on the public highway.

I saw a video on a YT channel called Dan Dan The Fireman the other day that is pertinent. If you want to see scary bike accidents, check it out. There was one recently of someone doing a wheelie on a sports bike and loosing it. He was wearing shorts which burned through in the backside to his skin in about 1 second. I dread to think what he looked like after.

We make seatbelts compulsory, insist on ABS, VSS etc and yet allow motorcycles to be ridden in shorts and jandals. There is a bit of a logic gap there somewhere.

Wondering when the 90kmh limit for trucks and trailers was removed given the difficulty in legally passing many of these on any flat passing lanes.

(Note: I know the limit hasn't been removed)

Tradies that block the footpath and the crossover so that my only option is to back down the street, cross over the road and then cross back over, selfish muppets.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

All these illegal parking/stopping infringements, FH yellow circle, driveway parking, cycleway parking etc, mentioned in this topic. is it not appropriate to ring..........

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

The 0800 number appears to be for bookings, there's another office number finishing in 6661. The devil's in there somewhere.

As it is PARKING related, it is NOT a Police matter.

CCC are responsible and do VERY LITTLE policing!

Never written a ticket or come for a Cycleway call, and only show up for about 1 in 10 Hydrant calls!

Most councils seem to be frustratingly relaxed about parking enforcement. I suspect the reasons are largely political, as a large proportion of the voting public seem to believe that footpaths, cycleways, and private property should be available as public parking.
