Amazing how fast they move after being photographed!
(Going to the Chinese Consulate)
Blocking any view coming out of Arthur Street onto Hansons Lane!
Ignored by the Police driving past!
Hmmm a rhetorical question! Of course the motorcyclist pulled out!
9/10 that I've encountered in my lifetime of driving always do!
Repeat Offender parked yet again in the Hansons Lane Consulate Parking Lot - I mean Cycleway!!!!
Wardens take at least 20 mins to arrive after 10 minutes on hold to the CCC, then an eternity getting the job entered!
Only once have tickets actually been issued despite it being a multiple vehicles per day parking in it! (Despite the many calls!)
Trio of cyclists going the wrong way down a one-way street. I "almost" backed into them when coming out of an angled parking space (car went beep, and I'd like to think I'd have noticed them anyway if it didn't, but who can say for sure?).

You know, I'm pretty sure living where you do is actually detrimental to your health. This level of external stress is just not normal.

The wife bikes to work in the Central City. Every day she encounters either:
A car driving up the Cycleway towards her!
Or a car parked in the Cycleway completely blocking it, so she has to dismount to get around it!
Or someone backing blindly out of a driveway in her path!
She said "Biking on the Roadway feels safer, as you are not lulled into a false sense of safety as you are expecting traffic trying to kill you!
For the record, CCC phoned at 1015hrs, Warden came at 1130hrs! (Usual response confirmed!)

It's similar with the Wellington City Council. They do hardly any proactive enforcement, but encourage residents to report illegal parking which is completely ineffective as the offending vehicle is long gone by the time the parking officers arrive.
Also, when I am out running I don't have my phone with me so can't report the problem immediately, and don't know if the illegally parked vehicle is still there by the time I get home.

ROTFLMAO....there is your problem, you expect the police todo anything for the average NZ citizen.
They are far too busy doing the high media interest stuff. Looking good is far more important than being good.
Geektastic: Why do you need wardens to enforce it in an era of cameras and tow trucks?
Most of the illegally parked vehicles that I encounter are nowhere near a CCTV camera.

Lots of Offences SHOULD be towable!
Tow trucks enforcing Cycleways / Yellow Lines / No Stopping Zones / Hydrants etc would solve the problem overnight.
Photograph offending vehicle - tow!
The Council backlash from the "hard done by" selfish driver who caused the offence is judged to be not worth it!
Here I was thinking you should ride on the inside of the bus, not hang off the back

Still surprises me, although it shouldn't with the number of times I see it now, the muppets watching a movie/tv show while driving. Even more so the ones with the phone sitting on the dash above the steering wheel blocking their view of the road. I do report to the Police Community Road Watch whenever possible but wish penalties were a lot harsher.

You mean "...wish there were ACTUALLY Penalties and Enforcement!" ? (I do)
