She will have also have a "self drive" car provided by DIA and its reported that a large chunk of these are EVs

"The EQC shapes up as a big rival for the Jaguar I-Pace and Audi e-tron. And curiously, it's the Mercedes that now sits as the cheapest of the group.

When it lands at local showrooms in January, the EQC's pricing will start with an MRRP of $142,900 plus on-road costs. That's $2000 cheaper than the $144,900 I-Pace S, and almost $6000 cheaper than the entry-level e-tron. "

I thought this new technology is interesting for EV charging stations:

Its a flywheel that is used to store up and deliver a quicker charging than the grid would allow.

"The innovative system makes it possible to supply electric vehicles with power using fast-charging technology, even where there is ordinarily insufficient power. The charging station absorbs peak loads in the grid, accelerating its flywheels to high speeds and storing the electricity as kinetic energy. When an electric car is then connected, the Kinetic Power Booster releases this as electricity, and in doing so doubles the charging power that the national grid could have provided on its own. This makes this clever solution ideal for car dealerships or shopping centres, for example."

Here is the press release from Skoda that has introduced this new technology in Prague.

The physics of flywheel energy storage are well established, it has always been the economics that have been the problem ....

There's your problem. Glass is really tough, until you scratch it.

You'll see lots of YouTube videos of people trying to break car glass with their foot, or even a heavy rock, but a small light piece of hard jagged spark plug ceramic will do it.

Yes, but unfortunately for Musk, which video will be shown the most? I wonder if any of the engineers said “You can’t keep doing that it’s going to shatter eventually”?

Yes, but unfortunately for Musk, which video will be shown the most? I wonder if any of the engineers said “You can’t keep doing that it’s going to shatter eventually”?

I mean, yes, at first glance it wasn't a good look. At the same time though, how many otherwise unrelated places have you seen the Cybertruck show up now due to this incident? It's all over Reddit and Facebook now in the form of memes (Elon's favourite medium)...and Tesla hasn't had to pay for any marketing ;) Ultimately, nearly everyone commenting on the smashed glass currently drives a vehicle with glass that would smash if you threw a large steel ball bearing at it.
