Interesting. Not a horrible looking Ssangyong (some of them have been a bit yuck IMO).
Good to see them bringing prices down.
it's got buttons!
and hardly any touch screen!

Batman:But has it got voice command capability so functions can be carried out without having to find a button with the distraction this causes? e.g. "Hey Google, turn off navigation"

Just to veer slightly from the button argument. Does Google Assistant in the car have to be set to “Australia” since its still not officially supported in NZ (or did they fix that?).

Dingbatt:It worked in NZ straight out of the box in our Polestar. There's also the option of a voice command button on the steering wheel to get its attention rather than the "Hey Google".

agree, voice commands are better than buttons -
but only if you know what the commands are, and the system can recognise what you're saying.
i've had a few cars that the voice commands are useless - usually a combination of - i don't know what commands are available or i say the wrong thing or it just doesn't know what i want
this is the hierarchy of ease of use
- knobs and dials
- working voice command as a result of both parties being good
- buttons
- touch screen
- touch sensitive "buttons" - may or may not be any good, reviewers say can be pretty hopeless eg steering wheel ones where the hand brushes the "buttons" doing normal steering tasks and activates something
- voice command where one party is not able to command or receive
jonathan18: Tesla’s voice recognition is so poor at understanding the NZ accent it may as well be disabled here - well, IME. Faking an American accent seems to help somewhat, and certain short/standard commands (like ‘show trip’) are ok, but trying to do anything more complex quickly becomes farcical. Given the otherwise reliance on the touch screen, I’d love to have usable voice commands.
Agreed. I haven't had it work for me once.
The thing is, when I first got the car it was perfect and had no trouble understanding my accent. Then they revamped the voice recognition with the 2019 Holiday Update so it could understand a whole bunch of new "natural" commands and that took away its versatility with accents.

All cars are waterproof enough to act as a boat for a short time. That's why driving through water is super dangerous if you don't know exactly what you're doing.

Polestar 3 launched this morning.
Watch the official Polestar launch on YouTube. Skip to minute 55 to avoid sitting through the “we are wonderful” marketing guff. Or watch the abridged version on CNet.
Bullet points
111kWh battery
610km WLTP
€89900 !
Pilot and plus packs included for launch. Manufacture mid next year, LHD markets receive vehicles end of next year.
So this car is in Audi e-Tron territory. And 610km from a 111kWh battery doesn’t seem that great.
