Yes. Just alerted to the update (actually 2022.44.25.1). Installing now.

Not convinced by the shift to only three fan settings (especially on the eve of a long road trip in our car!); agree it can be a bit difficult to select an exact speed while on the go, but from 10 to three is fairly extreme and I’m worried it’ll not provide enough graduation. Five would have been a good compromise.

Ah, not quite as bad as I thought as the full 10 settings are still available when the aircon is not set to 'auto'. In addition, I'm 90% sure they've changed the fan speed selection from one of those annoying bars that are really difficult to control when driving (same as the volume control) to 'up' and 'down' arrows as per the photo below.

Really liking the new media controls, though the 'swipe up' for next tracks/source etc only stays visible for about 20 seconds, whereas I liked the previous ability to always have this visible.

The low/medium/high fan settings referenced in the release notes are when you have the HVAC system in “Auto” (for lazy Americans 😁). The up/down buttons for fan speed (still 10 increments) in manual operation is undocumented. It is much better than the slider only in the previous software.

I am liking the cards for media, trip data and tire pressure. I think they are configurable, I’ll need to rewatch MTN Ranger’s 2022.44.25.1 review on YouTube, as he covers a few of the nuances.

I find the map a big (and even bigger now) waste of screen real estate. I wish I could put something else permanently on part of it.

I understand it's configurable to the extent you can select which trip meters show up - on the 'trip' screen there's a tickbox next to each, and up to four (or three and the odometer) can be selected to show at the same time (eg, I currently have current trip, since last charge, Trip A (the one I use to track specific trips/periods of time) and odometer showing.). I'm not aware of anything else IRT the other two cards (other than the flick up on media card for next tracks, source etc as mentioned in my previous post).

I got the update today as well...except mine went to 25.2. Good to have the trip cars back again 🙂

Rejoice! Tesla is rolling out dynamic additions of third party chargers to the vehicle maps! The feature is starting in Europe and Israel but hopefully it doesn't take long to roll out to Oceania given that we also use CCS2

I do think the qualifying rules might need to be adjusted for NZ though. Having a Tesla visit every 4 days over a 60 day period will likely exclude many of our remote chargers here.

There was another update for me overnight. 25.3 now (from 25.1) Bug fixes I guess.

I’ve bought EAP and find it’s awesome for the lane changing but only on mapped roads (so the new Peka Peka bypass won’t work currently). Summon is mostly useless especially if you’re close to a road and the car suddenly stops mid summon but in the times it works it is a good party trick.

Remember though this is not full self driving. It is still autopilot.

Excellent. I do thousands of Kay’s on the Waikato expressway and am sick of overtaking. Car generally drives itself apart from that. Didn’t want to spend $5k to test if EAP worked.

Yay! Was just loading the car to head away for Christmas and there was the EAP notification. Will need to spend a few minutes to remind myself what I’ve gained for the drive.

A very nice Christmas ‘gift’ from Tesla. I wonder if I will enjoy the features enough to pony up for EAP full time? I guess that is part of their motivation.

So a few days with the EAP trial. Quite a bit of motorway and expressway driving.
I quite like the auto lane change, although I do find the car more ‘positive’ in its move to the next lane than I do manually.

I am not brave enough to try the “Go to target” function part of Summon, but I have tried the forward and back arrows, with varying levels of success. Probably about 30% successful. The rest of the time it either times out or just ignores the button press.

Early days, but I think $5700 might be a bit much for what you get.

I find for normal summon that it's better to go into the cars summon settings and turn off the "continuous press" requirement. This also unlocks the basic "autopark" functionality where you can double tap the Park button in the car and it will ask you which direction to move, say if you've lined up in front of a tight park and don't want to have to squeeze out between the door. Then when you get out and close the door it will park itself.
