JaseNZ:
No it would just disappear completely if it went in one of our potholes.
Vey good point especially the craters of the moon on SH53 (Haywards Hill) It would be kind of fun to have a go in one but I doubt my 6' 3" frame would fit. I would look like Ed China in it
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

That thing weighs less than our caravan. I would be more worried about it blowing away. Those tiny wheels would be no match for our urban roads, a tiny pot hole would either completely stop it or bounce it onto its roof.

LOL. There are many smaller cars. the Smart Car, Daimlers Smart Car, I bought a 2010 Fit just as a golf car when I re took that sport up. Yaris, Swift, plenty of smaller cars out there.

Well those toys that NZ post drive around in seem to be legal and that looks more substantial than those.
I can't explain it but I just think those little postman Pat mobiles are awesome.

They call them Paxsters - https://paxster.no/
One thing I have never understood is why rural posties are made to drive right-hand vehicles. The one that serves our very long country road is forced to weave back and forth all the way out, often driving in the wrong lane. I know in America, at least in the past, rural posties had vehicles with the steering on the same side as mailboxes. It is much easier and much safer. Is there a reason we don't do that or is it just stupidity?
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

I'm with you. I have no reasonable use for one, but that doesn't stop me wanting one.

Yes!
Electric golf carts for everyone.
Good enough to go to the shops. :-)
I was thinking more like Wu Ling Mini EV. Kind of a 4-seater EV smart car for about US$4500. :-) The range is about 100km with the big (13.9 kWh) battery. It's the fastest selling EV in China in 2021.
I'm taking an alternative approach. its not for everyone but currently stripping a 1976 Vespa 50s with a seized motor in preparation for a 3Kw hub motor transplant with a 64V 24Ah battery. Should be good for ~60Km range, perfect for a commute and running to the shops for small things.

Looks good for what it does ...
Same company that makes MG cars so it should be at least as reliable
Now if they can sell this EV here for NZD 8625 ....
Citroen have a baby EV which looks a lot like the Wu Ling Mini EV. There will be a market for it. Suzuki should do a full EV Ignis, there is a hybrid Ignis coming here.

I'm pretty sure SAIC just copies other cars not the other way round
MileHighKiwi: Who decides what an appropriate use for something is? I'm doing a large landscaping project and yesterday had 12 guys on site, most in utes. We had a good laugh when I joked about them having to buy an EV. We live on a hill with a steep and curved driveway. A builder reversed a huge trailer up our drive loaded to the rafters with builders mix, timber and tools. His massive Hilux struggled.....no chance in a yet to be developed ev ute!
Get a good price for the Hilux and pop 200k on an EV ute? :-)
