I have to say ... I don't think Vettel is that good a driver, all things being equal. I think it was all his car. He is being eaten alive by his rookie team mate!

The alternative explanations are: His driving style does not suit these new cars.

The facts that point against this statement: If he and Mark had the same car, he was always faster after ever since Istanbul 2010.
You could say that about Alonso and other people.

Thoughts?

I disagree. I think Kobayashi is the best.

It's impossible to judge talent in F1. I don't rate Hamilton and he didn't consistently beat Button who I put alongside Webber, maybe a bit above. Although I am biased because I think Hamilton is pretty arrogant.

I do think Vettle is a good driver and it's not uncommon to have a car turn to a dog a season later. Especially with the amount of rule changes. I just think the Mercedes engineers and designers have done a stunning job and if Hamilton was amazing he would be blowing Nico away every race.

Kobocrashy is amazing. Keeps it interesting.

Most winners are arrogant. That's why they win. By shunting someone aside when it's 50 50.

Vettel's car isn't bad or a dog, but it isn't suiting his style. Same with Raikonnen. Last race Vettel started 15th, had a different chassis, made great ground, fastest lap, and that was when the Mercedes pair were racing hard and in clear air. And, despite his reputation for not being that great in the field, he made some great moves. Monaco is an odd race, it won't show the pace Vettel may have, but I expect him to be 3/10 up on Ricciardo , who is doing great job.

Its a weird season, there is no championship to look forward to. It was decided when they are a second a lap up. That was the end of the Constructors. I believe Hamilton is favoured by Mercedes, so he will win drivers title. Funny how the luck always goes one way..... Seen it all before, Red Bull was one example

But fun to see the others racing in behind Mercedes.

Yeah the other acing is great and yeah you are right, the Redbull car isn't that bad but isn't weird to have a new car built around a champion not suit his style? As an aside I wish refuelling still existed.

its from because obviously if u wanted say a better viewing platform or hospitalty it would be expensive but for basic package i still believe it s value for money as the flights alone would normally cost atleast $1100

Roughly I think it is really down to the cars, engineers and team strategy.  I think it would be better if their was no communication to the drivers at all (including telling them when to pit), so that the race strategy has to be done at the start of the race and by only the driver during the race.

However, if one is interested in the team strategy, then the current format is quite interesting, especially now that there is enough telemetry around fuel and tires for viewers to be able to guess the race strategy more easily.

F1 is 70% car and 30% driver, whereas MotoGP is the opposite.

I was told the experience is very different this year because of how quiet they sound, but it is still a very good deal indeed.

Hardly.

current f1 drivers are all prima donnas.

checkout rallying where drivers have to cope with a much wider range of conditions.

succeed at rallying and you are likely to do well in other car racing too.

taker a look at the wtcc coverage this sunday on tv3 and a chap by the name of sebastien loeb.

;)
