According to http://rightcar.govt.nz , I'll be up for

$175.20 for the Suzuki SX4
$134.95 for Honda Civic

Respectively, the ACC levy components for each, according to: http://www.acc.co.nz/PRD_EXT_CSMP/groups/external_levies/documents/reference_tools/wpc137747.pdf
$103.46
$68.46

All for 12 months, I assume GST inclusive.

$238 for a NZ new 2003 Toyota Avensis with 5 star safety rating - yet a friends imported, larger, vehicle (slightly newer) with no NZ safety rating is only costing her $134.

How do they work that out ? Only thing I can assume, is on how "green" each vehicle is. Ours dosent have any rating shown yet the friends does.

$238 for my 1995 Ford Laser. My last 12-month renewal was $285 so while not a huge saving, it's still a saving.

My new cars is $134.95 for 12 months, both 4wd's are $333.52 which is much less than the $400+ which I currently pay per year.

The ratings for cars more than 3 years old are based on actual crash data from Australia and NZ, star Ratings are only used for cars less than 2 or 3 years old where there is not enough crash data.

Also a 5 star rating in 2003 is probably only a 2 or 3 star car currently , (The ratings are constantly changing),

$238 for a 2001 Skyline.

They have lumped ALL skylines in as one (from 1977 onwards). Bit unfair I think.

Getting rid of it shortly.
