This is one of my favourite car channels.   He has about 1.7 million subscribers and many of his videos get over 100000 views.  While it's hard to estimate his earnings some sites say a rule of thumb is $1.00 per 1000 views.  It's all to do with demographics.  If you had a car channel based on customising luxury new cars the channel might make $7 per 1000 views but if the channel featured flipping $500 banger cars it might make far far less.   So if Scotty's channel keeps on growing he might be able to forget about fixing cars - which according to Scotty he won't be doing because it keeps his mind and body fit!

I have been mechanic same time as he has and I love his channel. No idea how he finds stuff in his garage and laugh at the old oil drums etc around his property.  Needs a tidy up.  He really is a down to earth guy though

I've been watching car shows on YouTube for years but never came across him. Thanks for the tip, I'll check his stuff out.

Ah yes have seen many of his videos, fun style and informative. Another motoring one I enjoy watching is Doug Demuro, he gets to review high end cars and sometimes drive them too.

I find him slightly annoying but can't look away. Much like Shmee150.

Gave him a go, can't warm to his style. Unsubscribed.

Just a note with ol Scotty, he is extremely biased and has a few very old school gripes against European cars and a few others.

ChrisFix is much better and he has very direct and informative videos and his voice doesnt drive you mad!

I find Doug Demuro harder to watch than Shmee150. I do think that Shmee150 can get a little too in depth, like taking 10 minutes to walk through all of the buttons around the driver and centre console.

The Mr JWW channel is quite good too.

And if you like a bit of the old stuff, new, bikes and some adventures, the Harry's Garage channel is worth a look. Hosted by Harry Metcalfe who started EVO Magazine, and has worked on others too.

Doug is only good if you like to drool over cars and learn that the left door card has 2 more stitches than the right etc..
Interesting videos but they get repetitive and his structure is the same throughout all videos. You can anticipate what he says after two of three videos.

Never caught onto Shmee, thought he was a twatty Brit, had a really annoying voice like Doug and was just pretentious looking. He also seems to suck up to the dudes with money and its pretty cringe. If you want quality super car videos, look up Gumbal.

Harrys Garage is cool, same with a few others [HOONIGAN] is really good now too.

Only car channel I watch regularly is Mighty Car Mods. THink its mainly because their sense of humor appeals to me and theyre into similar cars as myself :)

I stopped following them as it got really repetitive and a little boring, but it seems they have some commercialized shows now on TV or something?

This is my go to in no order:

Vinwiki: Good for killing time and listening to some pretty cool stories. Ed is annoying though. Typical sales guy..
ChrisFix: Has good tips and shows how to do things well. No random pesky Scotty traits, Endorses safety and quality products.
Garage 54 English: Russians who seem like really cool blokes just test anything on a Lada the mind can think of, Really worth the watch.
HooviesGarage: Good for watching someone waste their time and money on cars no one else would, just general antics.
MotorTrend/HotrodMag/Roadkill/TST/ /Drive: Good for commercialized youtube shows, they produce good content.
1320Video: Great for watching people stay awake for the entire drag week (Craaack), super rich idiots waste money, good coverage none the less.

Side notes:
DonutMedia: I don't need to know what children think of cars, I was one recently..
Super car chasers should be moved to another part of the internet.

There are some guys who are Kiwi/Au/US who live in Japan who do videos of drifting and the culture, find your preference as it comes down to the person.

Garage 54 wins hands down. They are just too good.
