JoshWright:
richms: Probably will not be the same price. That was an incredible deal IMO and none of the other sellers are even close to it.

Hmmm. May have to YouShop one from the online US Microsoft Store, assuming they take NZ credit cards.

Nope every time i tried to order they would reject it as the credit card did not match the address (as we don't have that on nz credit cards).

I even spent an hour on the phone to them (to the US, toll call) and the lady could not even do a manual order for me over the phone as the system just rejects the NZ card and address.

Aww sadness. My parents were going to buy it for me as a christmas present, otherwise I would've ordered it straight away (Don't; have a credit card, I'm 15). That sucks so much. If anyone decides they don't want the one they already bought, we'd gladly buy it off you!

American companies make it so hard to buy stuff its not worth the hassle most of the time.

I prefer putting up with their hassle than paying the crazy local prices.

Has anyone had experience with EntroPay? I could get a virtual US credit card, buy the tablet from the Microsoft Online Store, have it shipped to YouShop, and then forwarded on to NZ. Would that work? I'd obviously be paying a lot more (5% on the Virtual CC, plus however much YouShop costs).

Suddenly they will decide to not ship to warehouses etc. Basically if they dont want you to buy it they will just keep finding excuses. Things that are sold at low prices are used to get people onto their books for other marketing which is very hard to stop in the USA. A forigner with a reshipper that just throws out any posted letters to the address is not the sort of details they want to harvest.

So mine has arrived now - fairly happy with it so far.  Only issues:

1) Wifi keeps getting intermittent 'limited connection'.  No other devices on WiFi network have this problem.  Any ideas?

2) I can't seem to look at my open apps by swiping in from the left (and there is no keyboard for Alt + TAB)

1080p mkv seemed to run great, which I'm pleased about!

Limited WiFi, does this happen after standby resume and does it go away on reboot

Swiping, you should be able to swipe in from the left just a little then back to the right

This works on my Stream 7 fine

So re-installed wireless drivers, used the /flushdns command, reloaded windows (not a refresh), change wireless settings and still get the "limited" wireless issue, it just seems to happen, fine one minute then not.  Ran the HP network tool and it says the "dns not responding".
Our network is setup to get DNS/IP from router, I put it on a static IP last night with slingshots dns, still got the same problem, then used googles dns and that worked for a little while then back to "limited"

I will test a few more things but it might be going back to amazon if this keeps up, looks like the 2nd batch they got in has some "issues" as others are reporting the problem on HP's site.

Ok someone who has a working 1 (no wifi problems)

Can you see if you have TCP/IPv6 under the wireless settings ticked.

I have just taken this off and it seems to be a lot better but just want to see if others have it ticked and don't have issues

Have one from the second batch and can confirm no issues with Wifi and TCP/IPv6 selected. I have not installed all the Windows Updates available. From reading online, it seems that the wifi issues start after all the Windows Updates have been installed.
