mrtoken: Ok someone who has a working 1 (no wifi problems)

Can you see if you have TCP/IPv6 under the wireless settings ticked.

I have just taken this off and it seems to be a lot better but just want to see if others have it ticked and don't have issues

Have one from the second batch and can confirm no issues with Wifi and TCP/IPv6 selected. I have not installed all the Windows Updates available. From reading online, it seems that the wifi issues start after all the Windows Updates have been installed.

Well Dam
Mine is really not happy anymore (internet update down every time i go to a new website, yet other devices are fine), was about to file a return to amazon however they say they will only refund $20 postage, looking on NZ Post site it will cost me just under $90 to return it (due to shipping a battery).

Time to cut my losses, just a bit pee'd about it really.

Tried uninstalling device from Device Manager (but not uninstalling drivers) and let it rescan for hardware changes?

sxz: So mine has arrived now - fairly happy with it so far.  Only issues:

1) Wifi keeps getting intermittent 'limited connection'.  No other devices on WiFi network have this problem.  Any ideas?

2) I can't seem to look at my open apps by swiping in from the left (and there is no keyboard for Alt + TAB)

1080p mkv seemed to run great, which I'm pleased about!

Limited WiFi, does this happen after standby resume and does it go away on reboot

Swiping, you should be able to swipe in from the left just a little then back to the right

This works on my Stream 7 fine

So I changed my router from band '6' to band '1' frequency and I have no more WiFi issues.  Little machine works pretty well!

Now it's hard to find good apps on the app store designed for small screen tablets.  My wife is gutted there is no good Pinterest app, she wanted to use it for recipes.

Was going to be next question. Because US and NZ use different bands.

Ok that helped a little bit but still getting limited access on and off while using it.

Just called HP via the nz number which told me to call the US after telling them I have already done all the steps on the website, updated drivers, re-installed windows etc.

I really don't want to spend any more money on the thing with calls to the US and couriers to get it back so it will just be a paper weight.

These are for sale at jb for 199. Didn't think to ask what they were in their BS cost sale when I was there.

It's worth noting the NZ retailers such as JB Hi-Fi have been listing the Stream 7 and Stream 8 has having only 16GB.

The good news is that this incorrect and the products do ship with 32GB (I imagine retailers will move to fix this once they realize the mistake). I believe instead of 3G/4G in the NZ version of the Stream 8 there is instead free Wi-Fi from iPass.

Thanks all

Band 1 seems to have fixed it a little, still does the "page can't be found" thing on IE/chrome 2 or 3 times between websites but if you keep hitting refresh it comes up.
I'm not going to waste any more time or money on it, worst comes to worst I will just stick with the ipad/phone.

I have a stream 8 from pbtech, the NZ version.
Can confirm, no 3g/4g.
32gb storage.
Ipass wifi included
Takes a 64gb micro SD card.

I had the wifi problem too - ramdomly disconnecting or showing as limited.

Updated the bios and installed the wireless drivers from the hp support site. 3 hours and no problems so far.

I'd suggest using the browser until a proper Pinterest store app is available

Modern IE on Windows Tablet is the best touch browser compared to Safari/Chrome/Firefox etc
