I see that this is free only for the first year. But what are ongoing prices after the 1st year. When I look up the prices on the domain page, it says .kiwi domains are $0.00. Does this mean that they are always free?

Thanks mattwnz. You can see the full price list in your account under Billing > Price List.

Good question

I don't have an account. Just want to know what future prices are, if I was to set one up. The pricing should be on the website so they are easy to see.

Registered a domain now.

@mattwnz $38

According to the check out process all prices are +VAT, presumably this should be +GST. Also it is unclear that all prices are +GST, not being a business user I find this annoying that is not clear until the last step in the checkout process.

Thanks rscole86. Feedback appreciated, agreed that it would make sense to see that all prices are +GST. I will forward that to our developers.

Understood. You can also see the full price list on the Domains page on our website. I noticed that the price shows currently $0 per default (which should not be the case). The should show up again correctly soon. Thanks for pointing that out. The KIWI renewal price is $38.

I've had a brief browse of the T&C's (do like the 8 commandments) but can't see an answer jumping out as yet:

1. Who will be considered the owner during the free period?

2. Can domains be transferred out at the end of the 12 month free period without penalty?

I may well have missed the answers here as I'm browsing in a hurry before going out

Thanks for your quesiton kingjj.

1. Our customers are the owner of the domain names at all times. In other words, you will be the owner of the domain name.

2. Yes, you can transfer your domains at any time (except for the first 60 days, in which transfers are not allowed by the registry operator). There is no penalty for transfering your domain names to another provider.

We have not addressed these questions yet, so thanks for asking.

Feel free to ask if you have more quesions.

Does .kiwi offer domain whois privacy? I have my full details on my .co.nz business domain (which I don't have a problem with) but would like a domain for my family's email that doesn't give away all our contact details, at the moment I'm having to use a .com.

Thanks for your question meesham. Yes, .KIWI extension allows the use of Domain Privacy. You can add the Privacy service to your domain during the checkout process.

Let me know if you need assistance.

Awesome, thanks for the quick response. It looks like it's $5/year in case anyone's wondering.

Individuals (other than those that are in trade) can have their .nz details masked. See https://www.dnc.org.nz/pamo for the details, and it is free.

Thanks for sharing this stinger. It is true that .NZ discuss to allow the use of whois privacy on their domain names. From what it seems their solution would only maks the physical address but not the name of the domain owner.
