Thanks for sharing this stinger. It is true that .NZ discuss to allow the use of whois privacy on their domain names. From what it seems their solution would only maks[sic] the physical address but not the name of the domain owner.

This is the interim solution, which only masks the address. The permanent solution comes out later this year, and masks everything EXCEPT name, e-mail address and country. Details of this were available in last month's (July 2017) newsletter (link on the right side of the page). You are correctly that the name of the legal owner of the domain name is not masked in either scenario.

Thanks for the details stinger. I will definitely have a look at the technical specs of this solution. A shame they won´t support masking name, e-mail address and country. Would be great to be able and hide all registration details for .NZ domains.

Is that going to be free, or with it be an addon service?

The interim solution is free. The permanent solution is provided free by the registry, but the registrar (the company you register your domain name through) might charge for this service, but I would be surprised if any did.

Thanks for this info. I found it easy to make the purchase and now have a .kiwi domain. Great to have it so seamless and easy for a novice.

Just as quick info, in some cases the domains might not show up right away in your account. We have a bit of a backlog currently. More registrations than expected. Some of you make really good use of this promotion. Keep it up guys! :)

Hi @octopoly - what's the case if the name you wish to register (family name) is shown as "Premium"?
