elpenguino: Our local library has a couple of printers, I presume available for a small fee.

Knowing that, I agree the real skill to develop is the design / drawing side.

Having said that, I realise that development is often an iterative process so outsourcing the printing part of the process could make it very slow to make progress if you design, then print, then discover you made a boo boo.

The frustration of changing a system that works (but is dangerous without thermal runaway protection) for the Ender that has adhesion problems.

I did install a Creality glass bed on the Ender but after printing a couple of layers the adhesion "lets go".  Wondering if I should use a gluestick or hairspray to make the bed stickier.

I print at 60 degrees on the Creality glass bed (with PLA/PLA+) and it's almost always fine. I've had the ocassional tall and skinny thing fall over, but have learnt to use a brim for those. I've never used glue or hairspray with glass, but I also only print PLA.

My new Ender has zero adhesion issues. Must be the new build board it comes with . I think its fibreglass with the rough black coating.
in fact , its actually quite hard for me to get the print off. It takes considerable force .

Is glass an issue for the heatbed temps , as glass is a very poor conductor of heat. So the glass could be much cooler than the bed temp. ?

The first demo thing I printed had the first layer made up of lines about 5mm apart. The next layer was made up of lines beside each other but parallel to the first.

Accordingly the thing actually had very little material in contact with the bed and was easy to get off (I re-heated the bed).

Is this a standard technique? How is it defined for the printer?

...

You have to remember these are sold at hobbiest prices .
Its a $200 , $360 machine. you are buying a box of very very very cheap parts .
You arnt paying for a high precision, fully tested & supported CAD machine.

So you're saying I won't be able to make one of these?

Don't think I'll bother then.😝

Typical -I thought the problem was bed adhesion being poor, but investigating further found the eccentric bolt wheel on the end of the X access was too tight and "dragging down" the bar so it was not lifting high enough after the first two layers and dislodged the print.
