Just checked the Canon website, and it says "participating Canon Authorised Dealers"  Using the Canon website to see who is listed, and no mention of DSE (though it still mentions Bond and Bond, so is probably out of date) in Palmerston North.  Can anyone confirm that purchases from DSE are valid for the cashback offer?

Re. confirmations - sounds odd. I bought one from Dick Smith 18/01/15 - filled out cash-back form online same day and received confirmation of acceptance 2 days later - from - canonpromos@redeemit email subject 'Claim Approved'' - you may want to check your spam etc.

Have just purchased another one to use the inks in the first one and (all going well) receive another $70 from Canon to go towards the continuing purchase of consumables if I keep using it (plus have one machine spare or family use). This time, instead of costing me $9 I should be $11 in credit with the second machine.

Cheers,
Mike

Make yourself a My Canon account then go in to "make" a claim.

As part of this process you have to select where you bought your printer from.

Dick Smith (Electronics) is listed.

Thanks for this.  I was pretty sure it was valid to purchase from DSE, and that Canon's website was out of date, but it's good to get confirmation from others.  I bought one last night - when DSE/Canon are effectively paying me to take away a printer, it's hard to resist.

I'll buy a cheap set of after market cartridges when it runs out and let my mother go to town using it :)

Anyone received their refund yet? They seem to be dragging their feet to make payment. If Brother can make payment within a week, otther comapnies should be able to make payment as quickly, or at least after a few weeks. 5 weeks now, although not quite as bad as HP who took over 3 months.

The cashback is 28 days from when they confirm your claim NOT from when you file the redemption.  They give themselves 28 days to confirm your claim and another 28 days to process your cashback.  So it could take up to two months (or three months if they are talking working days but they don't specify).

When I submitted the form I believe it said 28 days in total, not close to 60. Nowhere does it say that it will take 28 days to first validate it, it just says 28 days from validation, which should be a couple of days at the most with online submissions. It took them a very long time to validate it in the first place, when it was all done automatically online. As others have said , Brother handles the  whole process done within a week, and you  have the money within that week.

It is definitely a slow process but I was never really worried (only impatient).

My claim has just been paid for a purchase made just before the end of last year. They took a while to acknowledge/accept the claim (after holidays) and then it took a few weeks from there.

Yes Brother has a great cash back turnaround time and that's why I like them. But I can't really complain here as it's well within their stated targets (although the 28 days seemed like it would be from submitting the claim rather than after they processed it).

Just got an email telling me I had money today, under the 28 days from getting the approval notice but not 28 days since claiming.
