I did a few random add to cart tests but wasn't able to find anything I wanted that was sold by Amazon that had free postage

Products must be sold and fulfilled by Amazon to Apply. I'm picking the products you were looking at weren't.

You need to look at the product and see who is supplying and fulfilling the order, remembering many products on Amazon are supplied by 3rd parties.

Everything I cart tested was sold by Amazon.

Same here, I even filtered the "sold by" option to amazon.com and amazon warehouse to make sure, still getting shipping thrown on..

And your total cart price was $75+ USD? (and all "Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc.")

Not $75 NZD, Amazon converts allot of the prices at checkout to NZD, to keep an eye on that.

The mx500 SSD and pretty much all the DDR4 RAM I've been looking at qualify, as long as they're over $115nzd (and under $400 so you don't get gst tacked on).

I did buy something via that link a few weeks ago, and if irc you get a cut from anything else I buy for a month? (so I only need to click the link once a month?)

Anyway, my question, do you still get something when someone buys via smile.amazon.com (the amazon charity url)?

Yes for smile, and no - I think the cookie is only 24 hours and as soon as you checkout, it's cleared.

Just a heads up, looks like the blanket $75 USD+ offer is back. At least it worked on the few Amazon sold items I just checked.

Oh wow, you're right. Free shipping now being offered on my cart full of kitchenware again...

Doesn't look like this is free shipping, I thought it was pretty much everything over $75. Other items appear to be ok?

Is it a matter of picking another supplier?

That set looks like its fufilled by Circulon Premier Professional

The black 11 piece non-stick set gets shipped by Amazon and I think might have free shipping if Prime, but I don't have it so can't check.

Nope, it won't get free shipping to NZ as Amazon isn't listed as one of the sellers.

If you look at the button of the summary description you will see a link like "Used & new (15) from $139.99 & FREE shipping."(that "free shipping it talks about here is for US customers, not NZ), click that and it will bring you to the list of sellers for that item. None of them are Amazon.

If you see the Amazon logo as the seller in that list, then you know Amazon sells it, and you should buy via that link then.

E.G. check this listing, https://amazon.com/gp/product/B072HRDM55/ it's sold by default by "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." and when you check the list of sellers you see Amazon at the top (though it's not always the first).

The final way to check is when you're on the final checkout page, you should see "Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc" under the US price and Quantity on the left.

90% of the time, when Amazon sells an item, it will be selected by default, but not always, so always worth checking the "Used & new" link, if there is one.

FYI, always try to buy anything you get on Amazon.com sold directly from Amazon, not one of the other sellers, Amazon by far provides you with the best support if something goes wrong down the line (even free return shipping back to the US for warranty faults). Not to mention that chances of you getting a fake item are greatly reduced.

Well colour me impressed, the ssd I ordered showed up this morning. Shipped from US by dpdgroup and delivered by fastway.

The shipping status still says it hasn't reached nz yet. I've never gotten a package before the tracking notification :)

Sorry for being stupid out here.

Does Amazon send any invoices in the parcel when you receive your package from Amazon?

If you call this an invoice, then yes. That's all the paperwork that arrives.

(this one item I ordered just between the 2 free shipping promos, hence the shipping promo isn't listed on the invoice.)

I'm fairly sure if you send it as a gift it doesn't have an invoice.
