Jas777:
The way you go on you think he was the best batsman NZ ever produced.
And Munro has converted his 1st class capability? NO, irrelevant.
T20 is not about batting classical cricket, like I said, HOW Allen batted this year, including against NZs best bowlers, had all the skills the very best in form t20 batsman have, him and Phillipe looked very similar in HOW they batted.
George worker was the closest too him and he isnt even selected. Its pretty clear they see talent in Allen. He had a lot of rough starts being blocked then used in injuries for Auckland. This was his first season as a #1 batsman for a team. And he took that and regardless of anything else, he creamed every other player. You cannot ignore form, out of fear.
Intent is 95% of what you want in a t20 batsman, providing they can play every shot imaginable. The game is so far removed from 1st class cricket.
We will see how right you are soon enough.
